Trump: The 2nd Term

What are some of the priorities for the second term; what would you like to see occur?

For me, federal spending reductions to achieve a balanced budget by the end of his second term. (I would prefer sooner, but we know how that goes).

At least one more supreme court appointment, obviously, unless it occurs in 2020 which is likely.

Many more federal judge appointments, to add to the 181 already :)

The bulldozing of obamaKare, for good.

What say you?

He's going to need Republicans in control of Congress.

I'd like to see real welfare reductions and reform - remove the federal government from the welfare equation over a 5 year span, return the control to the states. Elimination of the Federal Department of Education except as a clearinghouse of information. Cut the size of the federal government by 1/3rd. The Census should count everyone, but only citizens count for government spending and representation. Real tax reform (Constitutional Amendment) to either adopt FairTax or a flat income tax for raising funds for federal operations that everyone pays, then a variety of other taxes for program finance to cover current retirees and soon to retirees (SS/Medicare) with a transition to individual accounts and investment options to take them out of Congressional hands. Once everything is balanced and self-sustaining, changing taxes or increasing taxes should require a 3/4th approval of Congress AND a national referendum. There should also be a special assessment for the wealthy, business, and financial transactions that is used to pay off the national debt over a 30 year period and automatically sunsets once the debt is retired and it can't be extended.

Once the government is operationally balanced, everything from that point on must be self-sustaining.

That’s what Im talking about! Shame we can’t accomplish this

As always, I agree with much of what you say. As always, your avarice takes you beyond the edge of reasonable expectations. It's kind of sad.

Progressive taxes are a necessity, flat taxes are unjust in this modern era.

Federal handout spending needs to be cut.

It's almost like the Dems are trying to get Trump reelected. Funding for the wall, win on MCA, stall their own impeachment...

2nd term:
load the courts
cut spending to below revenue
lower interest rates (to offset the deficit spending)
Continue deregulating
Pass a law addressing baseline budgeting to ensure fiscal Responsibility in the future.

Accomplish these things while keeping the economy strong and Conservatism will triumph long term in America.

One man's avarice is another man's fairness.

The problem with progressive taxes is that it allows government to be lazy and wasteful. Because fewer people pay a greater share it allows the government to play voters off of each other. Right now, you've got pretty much every Democrat running for office promising trillions of dollars of free stuff when we already run a trillion dollar deficit. About 30% of the population thinks that's a great idea because they don't think that there are any consequences for themselves and if there are, then they are entitled to a piece of someone else's success. As an example, today the top 1% of wage earners pay nearly 30% of all federal income taxes. The top 10% pay nearly 50% of all income taxes. The bottom 50% (who actually control 50% of the wages earned in this country only pay 10% of taxes How long is the federal budget sustainable growing faster than inflation and wage growth and being born mostly by only 10% of the population?

Spending is a worse problem for this country than climate change and should be addressed quickly.

One man's avarice is another man's fairness. That's a "you" problem. Not uncommon, either.

Lazy and wasteful are hand-in-hand with campaign donor-inspired "designer spending", and all are independent of tax rates. Stop bloviating.

mine bolded^

Spending is a huge problem. Handouts are a huge problem - to loafers and to corporate leeches. It would be easiest to fix spending if we cleaned up campaign finance first, forcing our politicians to think a little more clearly and more independently of their Party bosses.

The government knows it cannot tax at any higher rates. It’s the whole reason when have 22 trillion in debt.
The Feds problem is spending not income. This is always the case.
They will INFLATE their way out of this massive debt when the interest payments take up most of the yearly budget.
What a happy day for those of us who are saving for retirement.
We are being betrayed daily.

Approval up 5% points during impeachment. Thank you, liberals.

He is talking about another tax cut, and I am sure there will be good things emanating from the new [fair] trade deals.

Maybe throw in some real investigations of the Bidens and all obama-era officials that profiteered in foreign arenas off of US taxpayer money. I bet that under-the-radar graft and corruption is off the charts.

I have hope that when Durham's report and finds and charges come out in the next few months it will open the eyes of the American citizens and they will work to replace the Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler and all the lookalikes in office at this time. I know I am hoping for lot that is why if we don't get my wish I will not be to disappointed.

That the celebrities and their sycophants who are always promising to leave the country go.

End the anchor baby farce. Allowing people to benefit from intentionally violating the law is inherently unfair.

Fast track federal judge appointments, and do not back down from the fight over the replacement of RBG when that happens.

Some of the participants in these attempted coups have go to go to jail.

There was just a report about the administration cracking down on pregnant women coming to America to have their babies born here. there is a whole industry built around it.

Hear this same exact song and dance During Bush 1 and Bush 2 terms. Reagan rode the crest of a wave and left Bush a small ripple that faded completely , Hear that the Kingdom would have no end republicans would rule for all eternity , Clinton economy was good, Bush 2 rode that for a short time but like economic cycles things went south and Bush 2 left Obama a disaster . We are in a recovery and Trump has made the rich as rich as they have ever been and the stock market class is roaring from the top of the mountain. Wage growth numbers are a sham for the lower middle to middle classes as they use the model of 0 for the unemployed now employed to whatever the minimum is fattening up the average growth .

So here we are again after the biggest shellacking in terms of number of votes loss in the midterms since Watergate and the Republicans who act as if the recovery and the economy turned on a dime three years ago think the kingdom will have no end again . Hmm doesn't usually work that way . EVER Get the house back ? i can see why some think this way , Fox news , farr right wing conspiracy bogs and hanging out in echo chambers like this will influence oneto think that some kind of vast majority think they way they do . Not to mention the exact same like people they live around in their bubbles.

Remember when we were told Trump would not win the nomination?

Remember when we were told Trump would not win the election?

Remember when we were told Trump would not be inaugurated?

Remember when we were told Trump would not complete his first year?

Remember when we were told Trump would not complete his first term?

Four more years.

MAGA

That's your problem, the economy will eventually cycle, the question is if it will be a short cycle (like the one that occurred at the end of the Clinton administration) or a long one (like at the beginning of the Obama administration). ANY cycle has the opportunity to be bad if the economy is managed poorly - and the 2008 cycle was handled poorly. And as Rahm Emmanuel said "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before." Instead of concentrating on the economy and getting it righted quickly, the Democrats unleashed a raft of programs and policies that ended up extending the pain and limiting the rate of recovery.

The next cycle will not be Trump's fault, but the recovery from it will demonstrate if he is focused on America and Americans and not party ideology and politics.

While Trump was a darkhorse and the polls were not as accurate as usual due to people being reluctant to admit they favored a man such as this for obvious reasons , anyone with a clue knew that Hillary was vulnerable to possibly lose , I mean the FBI announced they were still investigating emails a couple weeks before the election . Trump getting the nomination while a surprise wasn't shocking to most who saw real cowardice and weakness among others in the field .

Not inaugurated ? Huh? Never heard a peep never mind YOU being told this . First year ? Again ridiculous , no drum beat of this existed. First term ? Seeing as though he has so many of his guys in legal trouble some did think may be he may get roughed up butas we have seen , he is above the law in current conditions with Barr believing in absolute executive power.

Trump possesses ZERO qualities that any of us would ever want to see in our Dads sons or brothers. This has been true of other 'kings" in history and sometimes Kingdoms really have an end and that end , ends badly. Time will tell .

Trump cares only for himself and people like him who can help him . If you don't see that clear as day I can't help you . Trump is only responsible for good thigns and won't be responsible for a fading economy . Got it . He in fact is the first President in history to never err at all and that will never change . I mean how does a guy go bankrupt that many times with even casinos losing money yet be perfect as President never making a mistake or doing anything that non one has a problem with ? Good news is this echo chamber doesn't represent the country although I think many of you kind of think it does.

Hmm a personal attack from the man who competed with teenagers his entire life. The man with al the answers . Of course how many grown men don't have the answers when competing with 16 year old's. Some kind of fake philosopher . I can just picture you in front of the class uttering that kind of crap once again triumphant in besting a 15 year old kid.
