Ken Calloway (6’6, 1963). POY in the State. Went to UC (arguably the top program in the US at that time). Team finished number one the state and was undefeated until they were upset in the regional finals.
Dan Gerhard (6’3, 1970). POY in the State. Ohio State scholarship, started as a sophomore. State Champ in 1970.
Derrick Brown (6’7, 2004). All State as a Junior and Senior. Great career at Xavier. Played four years in the NBA, still playing in Europe.
Nathan Peavey (6’7, 2002). All State. Big career at Miami. Played professionally for at least 10 years in Europe.
Darnell Hoskins (6’0, 1993). Scholar shipped by Wisconsin, starter as sophomore and junior, later played his final year at UD and led them in scoring. Played professionally for several years in Europe.o
Next Five:
Jim Gotschall (6’1, 1966). AllState, Scholarship to UD. Three year starter at UD. Team won the State. Also, the only team to beat the Belmont May/Hosket team as juniors.
Al Sicard (6’5, 1989). All State. UD scholarship. Led team to final four. Most points in a single season.
Terry Tyler (6’3, 1970). State Champs. Michigan scholarship.
Ted Wueban (6’5, 1970). State Tournament MVP. Scholarship to Creighton. Three year starter and double figure scorer at Creighton.
Steve Block (6’2, 1980). 2nd All Time leading scorer. Ashland University scholarship.
Honorable Mentions:
Al Bertie (6’1, 1968). UD scholarship. Starter as sophomore on 66 State Champs.
Jerry Gotschall (6’1, 1966). UD scholarship. Like his twin brother three year starter,66 State Champs.
RonnieHunter (6’3, 1982). Miami scholarship. D1 College head coach of note today.
Gary Arthur (6’6, 1966). Chose football, played at Miami of Ohio and for years with the NFL Jets. 3 year starter and leading scorer and rebounder on 66 State Champs
Matt Vest (6’5, 2010). Wright State scholarship. Started every game that he was healthy all four years at WSU. Playing professionally in Europe.
Myo Baxter-Bell (6’5, 2015). All State. Led team to final four senior year. Just completed a solid career as a scholarship player at Liberty.
Christian Montague (6’0, 2017). 2nd all time leading scorer (would have been the all time leading scorer if not for an ACL that cost him most of his junior year). Walsh scholarship and current stand out there.
Chris McGuire (5’11, 1991). All State. State runner up senior year. All time steals leader, 2nd in assists. Wright State/Miami scholarship.
