Top five players from your school

I'm guessing that Withrow may have some players fro deeper in the past than I'm able to go, but I'll take a shot at an all-time Tiger Top 5:

Tyrone Hill - Xavier/NBA
Lasalle Thompson - Texas/NBA
Louis Orr - Syracuse/NBA
Ricky Calloway - Indiana/Kansas/NBA
Brandon Hunter - Ohio U/NBA

Others:

Yancy Gates - UC/pro in Europe
Jeff Rogers - Western Kentcky/pro in Europe
Steve Gentry - Xavier
Karl Brown - Western Kentucky
John Jacobs - UC
Eric Taylor - St. Francis (PA)/pro in Europe
Jason Crawford - Ohio U

I'm sure I'm missing a few, but Withrow's frontcourt talent matches up with anybody in Ohio. Strong group.

I'll do one for Coldwater but I'm probably way too young to give a good list.
But here's a few:
Matt Lefeld - Toledo
Eric Lefeld - Cincinnati (Football)
Cole Frilling - Case Western Reserve
Marcus Bruns - Bluffton University
Mike Koester - Career points record holder at 1188 points according to our records

Other Coldwater posters could probably give a better list

Dwayne Hunter , Todd Savoda , they also had a kid transfer in from Indianapolis who went and started at Arizona for 4 years , late 80s early 90s . Had a lot of talent in 80 just didn’t have any coaching
Casey Schmidt. Played for 2 years at PHS (sophomore/junior seasons), graduated from Valparaiso (Indiana) High School in 1989. Played at Arizona for 2 years, then transferred to Valparaiso University to finish up. Is in the Valpo HOF. Had a deadly jumper and hops out the gym.

Another thread talks about the top 10 players from the State of Ohio. It got me thinking about who the top 5 players from some of these schools would be. I'll start off with my 5 for STVM, and, for old times sake, include Central-Hower even though it's shut down.

STVM

LeBron James
Jerome Lane
Curtis Wilson
Romeo Travis
Henry Baddley/Jayvon Graves (I never could figure out who was better!)

Akron Central-Hower

Gus Johnson
Nate Thurmond
Jeremiah Wood
Jimmy Gooden
Larry "Goose" Davidson (maybe the best Akron produced until LBJ)
No Grady Mateen for CH

Grady Mateen didn't crack your Central-Hower Top Five? He was one of the top recruits in the nation, and went to Georgetown...when they were possibly the top program in the nation...before transferring to Ohio State.

1984 Grant led McKinley and Mateen led Ak.Central-Hower had 2 epic games
Regular season at the sold out JAR 7,004 fans witnessed the Bulldogs rally from a five-point deficit with 50 seconds left to beat
Central-Hower and 6-foot-11 Grady Mateen, 51-48.
The rematch for the Regional title had a close game also; Bulldog win 65-62

That game at the JAR was unbelievable. Chuck Zollicoffer hit a baseline jumper off a Grant dish to win it. It was crazy hot inside and for some reason the concession stands had no ice. So all they could serve was lukewarm soda.

Eastmoor Academy 2000 to present

Taevion Kinsey - Marshall
Jalon Lewis - Livingston College
Devin Edwards - Pitt University(Football)
Doug Thorpe - Walsh University DIII All-American
Ron Stewart - Akron University

Bobby Brannen was GCL POY three times (1992-1994) and went to UC. Monserez was GCL POY in 1999 and went to Butler. Sylvester was GCL POY in 2000 and 2001 and went to Ohio State. And Josh Duncan was GCL POY in 2003 and went to Xavier. The only one that wasnt POY was Hayes, and no offence to Haubner of LaSalle, but Jaxson and Jeremiah Davenport were the two best players in the GCL that year.
Josh Duncan was also Mr. Basketball his senior year. Hayes was definitely good but he was long, athletic and tall but not dominate like the others on this list. He reached his full potential at Texas who really liked him in AAU play.
