The 10th spot was between Marc Loving, Neshaun Coleman and Jermaine TateNeshaun Coleman was in the guard mix on Jim O’Brien’s Final Four team, but he wouldn’t knock out any of the top ten.
The two biggest reasons I put Hopson first was that he played all four years and is the all time leading scorer. And I loved Hopson at OSU, but I would flip flop him and Jimmy Jackson. JJ is one of the best all around college players I’ve ever seen.

What you wrote is all true, but Jimmy Jackson also had OSU competing at a high level also in a great B1G era.lol
#1 Ransey and it's not close.
The team he signed onto was alltimeshitty and he made them respected as a Freshman in one of the B10s best eras. Herb WIlliams added the following year and they're winning more than losing. By Senior year and the addition of Kellogg they're top ten. He leaves and the team with Williams, Kellogg, Todd Penn and Carter Scott, shitsthebed.
Ransey finished top ten an almost EVERY category and #1-5 in most.
I suppose. B10 actually won a championship during Ransey's years. What you wrote is all true, but Jimmy Jackson also had OSU competing at a high level also in a great B1G era.
Yeah. The B1G was very good in JJ’s time, but Ransey played in possibly the peak era of the league. I cut my teeth on that college basketball era so I remember all of those players. I went through the Purdue schedules in the Ransey timeframe as well and I found additional great college players you didn’t list. These college fans don’t understand how good we had it back then when 95% of the players stayed all four years and the handful that went pro early were generally three years, though I believe Isaiah and Magic left after two.I suppose. NBA rookie years: Both 4th picks. Jackson made third team all-rookie. Dallas won a couple games. Ransey was 2nd ROY, Portland went from 38-44 to 45-37
OSU wasn't horrible before JJ got there.
19-15 the year before Jackson got there and similar after he left.
6-20 the year before Ransey
Ohio St the first year without Ransey and with two all-timers in Kellogg and Herb Williams and future draft picks Carter Scott, Jim Smith, Granville Waiters, and Tony Campbell, fell from 20-10 to 14-13.
Comparing the talent of the eras, granted I'm sure they were something in Jacksons time. That call a timeout fab five was something. IDK. I had made a list once of the non-Purdue players I saw, this was Ransey's era also. I didn't filter out just the B10 players but feel free as other than the B10 players (Purdue's not listed) I don't know which ones Ransey played against. There's one or two B10 HOFers there I'm sure.

There's this talk of Painter finding all these 7fters like it's needle in haystack. I went back and looked at those rosters in that era. I recall one of the B10 teams had three but can't place the team. I recall Purdue having two and a 6'11". I was sitting in the shelves (about as remote a part you can find) at the libary and got passed bu this huge shadow. Joe Barry Carrol. He practically lived there. A real brainiac. Minn similar height McCale and Randy Brewer on the same team with another near 7 foot. Dougherty's NC team had him and three just shy.Yeah.
