The game was scheduled to be played at Stargell Stadium, which serves as a communal home field for many Cincinnati public high schools. It is near Taft High School and the main Cincinnati police station. A 13-year-old male was shot in the arm by Taft High School about 4 p.m. Thus, the game was postponed. Also, in the wake of last week's Cincinnati Country Day-North College Hill game ending because of gunshots from an apartment building across the street from the NCH stadium, Miami Valley Christian Academy announced it will be a no-show for its scheduled game Friday at NCH. There are reports CCD has no plans to continue its game vs. NCH at a later date.
 
Does any other old timer other than me ever remember this kind of stuff happening in our high school years???

Yeah it happened in Youngstown. Back then games weren't canceled, but a heavier police presence and games moved to daytime were done. Happened WAY more times in basketball
Late 60s/early 70s a team doctor was shot. Multiple fights led to Ytown city games moved to wither Friday 5pm or Saturday afternoon starts. No real changes except today everything is reported instantly and more caution today due to safety and potential negative press
