The 1980s were a golden age of adult oriented news print comics. The big three of Far Side, Calvin & Hobbes, and Bloom County were some of the 1st things I turned to when I read a hard copy of the paper. In the digital era they seem to have lost their relevance...

You might say the same thing for the 1960's and 70's, with Li'l Abner, Pogo, and Peanuts. But you're absolutely right, kids from the last 15 years and going forward will never know the thrill of turning the ink-stained pages for their daily fix of entertainment that even adults could enjoy.
