Supreme Court clears the way for new asylum restrictions to take effect

Go Buckeyes
The Supreme Court cleared the way for the Trump administration's rule that dramatically limits the ability of Central American migrants to claim asylum to go into effect nationwide while the appeals process plays out.

Wednesday's order is a major victory for the administration, which argued the rule was necessary to screen out "asylum seekers who declined to request protection at the first opportunity."

"BIG United States Supreme Court WIN for the Border on Asylum!" President Donald Trump said on Twitter.

Cruelty is the point
How is it cruel? Its common sense. You dont need to march all the way to the US bypassing US embassys, not to mention applying for asylum in Mexico, to seek asylum.

These people are gaming the system. No one has a right to just show up and live in America.

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Trump should remove that stupid poem from the statue so maybe dumb people will stop quoting it and treating it like it's good policy

Cruelty is the point

How? It's kind of cruel to flee supposed corruption and atrocities and drag your family a couple of thousand miles to a specific country vs seeking help from the 1st place you come to. That way you can get the help you need and you remain close to home so that when conditions improve you can go back.

You do know that is a poem, not a law right?
