As great as championship sunday was, SB sunday will be a bore as McVey finds a way to attack the NE defense and stop Brady.

Do we need to see a God rule in NFL football that if there is an absolutely terrible call like the Saints game that they buzz down and review it?

I dont want coaches to be able to challenge calls as I think that is too far, but if they see an absolute abortion of a call they should be able to change it.

Maybe its only a fourth qtr type of option for the officials as then the game is getting so late it can be almost impossible for a team to overcome a call.
 
NFL has reviewed the play and changed the call on the field to PI on the Rams.

Saints kneel down 3 times.

Saints are going to the Super Bowl now instead of the Rams.

Saints win.
 
Rams have begun to stop the run, which is what the Patriots have been able to do very successfully in the past two games. I still think Belichick and Brady find a way to win. I'm just not going to pick Jared Goff to beat Brady with the way New England's defense has figured some things out

While that no-call was the worst "air ball", it wasn't even the only miss on that play, much less the whole body of pass interference no-calls committed by LA in that game. The difference between the way that the LA and NE defenses were officiated looked like two different sports were being played. It's pathetic and it's inexcusable.

Everybody knows that the LA masses only turn out for a winner. Kroenke-dome needs this, and it will house NFLHQ west. I'm just sayin'.....

I have to ask this - IF the Rams were still a team from St Louis, would the game have been officiated in the same manner ?

LA v. Boston.....old, crafty, hooded, NFL wizard v. coaching wunderkind.....#1 top pick QB future v. Mr 6th round try-hard over-achiever QB past...... The NFL probably couldn't have a better TV scenario if they had set this up intentionally.........


They should offer Belichick a million to grow his white beard out
 
It has never made sense to me why certain calls can be reviewed and others, like PI, cannot.
That call makes the NFL officiating look like one of two things.
1. Inept.
2. Big time wrestling.

Two weeks until the SB.
Youthful enthusiasm will be tough to overcome.
Two weeks off for preparation and rest will be good for the old guys.

I hope that never comes to pass. I disagreed with it when the NBA did the same thing in reviewing the blocking/charge call in the Cavs/Warriors game. Judgement calls should never be reviewed.

I think they game would have been officiated the same no matter the teams involved. The SB will have the viewers, the hype no matter what and they can spin the marketing to make it huge viewership.

I am not on boat with people who believe it is rigged or they league has some sort of say in whom is being represented. There are plenty of stories to go around. Brees vs Brady or Mahones is still just as huge as the west coast is apathetic to the nfl.


I dont buy it because there is one thing, and only one thing, that I believe can derail the NFL and how we know it.
and that is...….the fixing of games to get a desired matchup. In a world where if there are more than 1 person involved in something it gets out.

That would ruin sports as we know it.

I agree, to an extent. It does seem pretty obvious that a "fix it!" memo didn't hit a mass email distribution list.

Selection and assignment of officials and the instructions given them can certainly tilt potential outcomes, though.

If those two wreak havoc up the middle in stopping the run and getting into TB12 face, they win.

If the don't do it enough, they lose.

FWIW the college teams with the most players in the Super Bowl : UGA and Rutgers with 4 players apiece. AS far as conferences SEC has 21 former players in the SB while the BIG has 20.
 
I think it should be a great game. I do think the Patriots find a way to win, because that's what they do.

This is easily the worst sports talk radio week of the year. It's all super bowl talk, and these shows take they shows to the super bowl, interview the same people and it's just garbage. They also create storylines for those who can't just pay attention to the game.

Now here's where the Pats have a huge advantage. For the Rams, this is all new. Even though in LA, they are a low profiled team. They've kind of flown under the radar and have not been involved a media push like they'll have this week. Meanwhile, for the Patriots, this is old hat. I just think the Rams will not be able to play to their expectations because their minds are clouded with all the super bowl hoopla.

Never thought I'd be rooting for Suh,hope they each get to him every possession and they have to run the ball.

I feel like the key for the Rams is if the DL can beat up Brady similar to how Philly and Giants did it in the past.

Pressure in his face seems to work best, so Suh and Donald may be the key.

I think an intriguing matchup is between Georgia Bulldogs Todd Gurley and Sony Michel. Who knows what was up with Gurley last week , but he is the key to their offense. Michel has continued to develop through the season to the point that he's a top 10 back going into next season.
 
NE lost last year, to the Eagles, who aren't as good as the Rams. I see a similar fate on Sunday. 33-28 Rams.

I agree, but it ends because of a LOSS to the Rams, and then the Rams go on to their OWN dynasty
 
I hope the Rams win, and they are certainly loaded with talent. I don’t really trust Goff yet, though, and it’s hard to bet against Belichick and Brady in a big game...and two weeks of prep time.
 
Said it before, but the game will be won or loss by how the LAR DT's perform in the middle.
I could see either of them winning the MVP
