Thanks

Amazing how far down Barberton has sunk. Almost like their football success drained them of basketball success. Long hill to climb to get back to the top.

Not Football fault. Lack of effort by coaches hurt hoops. Hope new coach brings fire and desire back.

We (Triway) scrimmaged both Highland and Wadsworth and did pretty well. How are they supposed to be this year?

Wadsworth is very young. Mostly sophomores and freshman. Just getting a couple players back from football. Big (6'7) who started as sophomore last year did not come out this year.

Who? Wads started Simmons and Casey last year, who were both 6'4-ish. They definitely didn't have anyone who was 6'7.

Suburban League basketball players playing in college?

Pete Nance (Revere) Northwestern (SO) - Leads the team in most statistical categories.

Who else is playing in college?

Evans is more like 6’5 and came off the bench last year. Has back injury

Anyone know how much Stow has coming back? Heading there on Wednesday for Green's season opener. Is Bainbridge still there? Are Stow supporters expecting a big year?

This year's team is an incredible mystery...unlike seen at Stow in recent memory. Only a handful of seniors, none that are expected to start or be key players. No height...6'4" is the tallest. Lots of sophomores and juniors expected to dominate the rotation, and even a few freshman on the roster this year. Some athletic ability...both transfers are fast and athletic in particular. Might be a long season, although supposedly they gave Lake all they could handle in their scrimmage.
Green should get a fairly easy W to start the season.

Never thought I'd see the day Dave Close would be reeling in transfers, but I guess that's the game today.

Horn is a legit scorer who will help them a ton, but he'll only be able to play the first half of the season.

Tallmadge 71
Field 52

Brandon Heigelmann led Tallmadge with 36 points.

Please explain how a junior can only play the FIRST half of the season. That seems odd......

If someone transferred schools and did not meet the necessary criteria (physically move residence to new district, etc), then he can play the first half of the season but would be ineligible for the second half and tournament. I don't know anything about the scenario/player in question, but that's the OHSAA rule, I believe.

He open-enrolled at Stow after playing at Falls last year.

Starting last season, the transfer penalty is sitting the second half of the year, plus the tournament instead of the first half.
