Stark County Week 5

You seem to forget that the new sheriff in town is OUR coach. And if he can beat you with St V, he will clean your clocks with McKinley. St. V didn't have a line nearly as big and strong as this McKinley team. I can't wait for Nov.2! We will run you ragged!

He doesn't have St. V. student athletes at McKinley!

He has a loss to the 4th - 6th best team in R1. Stop talking about how great the coach is....let him demonstrate it. He has the opportunity the next three weeks. Focus on that!

You'll see week 10 .

WHERE CHAMPIONS ARE MADE AND SUCCESS IS TRADITION
Failure to answer the question huh? I thought it was a simple one. I will give you another shot.
What, in your opinion, constitutes one entity "owning" another entity in sports. I will relax and wait for the answer.

I actually hope he ends up being a great coach for you guys and gets them back to where they belong except week 10 of course. But it takes a little time to do. I agree with you be patient and see what happens in the next few weeks. But even if they struggle and lose another game or two don’t panic. Give him some time.

Like what Coach Wattley is doing at McKinley and Week 10 should be fun this year at TBHOFS
However I think this Massillon team is loaded and it’s going to take an almost perfect game to beat the Tigers this season.

How about the job Coach Budd has done at Jackson? FLC and two playoff appearances and this year had huge uptick in numbers. He’s really helped change the football culture at Jackson.

Just based on Jackson's record, which is all I have to go on living in Florida, I don't see how you overlook the job Jackson's coach has done this year. Been a long time since they've had a start like this.

Long time? You have a short memory.

Just 2 years ago Jackson started 3-1, like this year, and got to 5-1
And just 3 years ago the Bears started 6-0.

Stereotypes are hard to break.

The same was said last year but at the end of the regular season how many teams in the state finished with more computer pts ? How about this year after 4 weeks how many teams in the state have more computer pts ? Do I need to explain the system to you ? If the teams you beat win games you get pts so it’s amazing how all of these weak teams we play are still able to win games for us.
The best is you have a 3-1 mck and a 3-1 Perry team not even in the top 8 at this point, talk about weak.

The teams you have beaten are a combined 10-7, and the teams McKinley has beaten are 9-7! So, using Massilon moronic logic, this leads to the conclusion that Massillon has played a vastly superior schedule? Im telling you, the Massillon school system has failed many in that community!

The problem is your defense is horrible ! This mck team is no different then when EGW was qb, he didn’t have much of an arm and everyone in the stadium knew he had to run or handoff to do anything and we all know how that worked out in 2012-13, 3 losses to us in 2 seasons. Warren put 27 and Euclid put 49 on you, if this game was just another game week 7 it would be at least a 30 pt game. When your coach was at St V they had discipline that had been instilled since Cistone was there, he won’t be at mck long enough to even sniff that kind of discipline.

Quite hypocritical of any Massillon fan to be calling out other programs, when in fact, you cant even control your own school administrator from threatening refs, or contain the adult fans that feel the need to come to the game intoxicated and then go onto to the field and threaten refs, yes, they are adults in the 40's in Massillon showing up intoxicated to high school games!. Let Massillon get a handle on the circus they have going on, before trying to address other neighboring schools discipline problems, as one of the greatest coaches in Stark County Wakefield said, theres a whole lot of stuff going on over at Massillon. Surely, he hit the nail on the head with such a true and accurate comment. Take away the large number of starters for your football team that were recruited into play, and the team becomes a 5 or 6 win team if they had to play Massillon kids instead of the transfers! Surely, kids are not transferring into Massillon for the academic program that the state had to take over!

He doesn't have St. V. student athletes at McKinley!

He has a loss to the 4th - 6th best team in R1. Stop talking about how great the coach is....let him demonstrate it. He has the opportunity the next three weeks. Focus on that!
In one sense you are right. Privates recruit. They have a built-in advantage in larger cities when they have established programs. We take whatever we have in our district and do the best we can with it. However, Canton, from time to time, has very good athletes in numbers St V can't match.Cases in point- two of our State Champions were nationally ranked #1 and #2. St. V' s very best football teams are never even in that conversation. Because they recruit greater Akron, St V has a more consistent quality

This year, we have the kind of size, talent, and depth St. V can't match. And our coach left St. V to be a defensive assistant @Akron U. for coach Bowden. . Only the very best McKinley coaches have coached in the college ranks. His assistants are very impressive.

If you have a different perspective, I am fine with that. But I would suggest you respect my informed opinion as well, as I'm pretty sure you have never played the game yourself. That's why you judge him superficially like some of the knuckleheads that post about us from Massillon based upon early season results you've heard about, not the progress I've witnessed in person. What do you know about conditioning and lifting techniques, because the improvement there is epic. That's coaching JAF.. This week in practice, McKinley is already a lot better than even two weeks ago. Such is a learning curve with teenagers. They learn and mature more readily under coaches who have the right skill-sets, and Coach Wattley has them all. He is taking us back to statewide prestige one week at a time.

Btw Euclid would beat every team on Massillon's schedule. Two weeks ago, they escaped the best one by far. We have already improved big time since that loss. The things we did wrong were all correctable, because the talent/coaching combo exists @ Canton McKinley.

I would add Coach Wattley frankly doesn't care what either of us think of his abilities or anyone else on this board. He is far too busy coaching and being a father to bother reading a message board full of multiple screen -named loonies and people with other social issues.

Interesting that Northwest has the weakest SOS to this point in season in Stark Co by the computer & yet “ranked” a top 10 team by people.

True, sometimes these algorithms see some things that we dont see, and sometimes they are just wacked out. NW's four opponents to date have a combined record of 6-10, which includes Claymont going 0-4. If you look a little deeper, the six second level wins by NW's opponents, they are against opponents that have a combined 3-21 record. That is probably the basis for the low rating, surely, NW's SOS will increase after Orrville this week and CVCA next week.

Take away the large number of starters for your football team that were recruited into play, and the team becomes a 5 or 6 win team if they had to play Massillon kids instead of the transfers!
You sure do spew this crap incessantly, but you never back it up with any proof. Please provide some proof next time you hurl accusations like that. If you have no proof, how about shutting your pie hole????

3-1 and not in the playoffs talking about someone else’s schedule. This stuff just can’t be made up.

Warren - Horrible, not very good
Buchtel
The teams you have beaten are a combined 10-7, and the teams McKinley has beaten are 9-7! So, using Massilon moronic logic, this leads to the conclusion that Massillon has played a vastly superior schedule? Im telling you, the Massillon school system has failed many in that community!

Please
Buchtel and Green
OK pal

Let Massillon get a handle on the circus they have going on, before trying to address other neighboring schools discipline problems, as one of the greatest coaches in Stark County Wakefield said, theres a whole lot of stuff going on over at Massillon. Surely, he hit the nail on the head with such a true and accurate comment.
More garbage spewing. You, and others, sure like to use Wakefield's quote, as a reason for most of the Fed not wanting to schedule Massillon. Maybe you should take a look at Wakefield's record against the Tigers as THE MAIN reason he does not want to schedule Massillon. While you are at it, why not look at the records of all the "non scheduling Massillon" Federal League teams, and see what their combined record is against the Tigers. Maybe, juuusssttt maybe, you will find the REAL reason they won't schedule Massillon. Heck, Massillon has already taken away one of those teams most often used "reasons" by agreeing to travel to any stadium. So now, the faithful Fed flock aimlessly follows their esteemed leader and prophet, Shephard Wakefield.

Good luck to all Stark County teams and hopefully everyone comes out injury free after Friday night.
