Local news.....not affecting many on Yappi but sad story. Enormous, beautiful church built in 1905. Greek Revival style.

Hoping it can be rebuilt as the walls are still structurally sound. Will take a lot of money to do so, but I think it's possible. Will be interesting to see what the archdiocese and parishioners decide to do. A lot of decisions need to be made.

No...that's down the road about a mile....

The relic chapel was the Maria Stein convent. This is the Catholic Church in Maria Stein

Stopped by there on my way home from Cincy about a decade ago. The convent is a fascinating place

There’s an active convent with cloistered nuns in Cleveland. They caught me off guard the first time I came across them in my travels.

Few and far between nuns have become.
If you were to make an educated guess, what would the sum of all nuns added together be?

My understanding is the exterior is able to be saved.
Hopefully they can recreate the interior using the community method. Puts skills to work as it was probably built originally. Getting quality old wood though.... Go tear one up in Indiana and smuggle the booty back over the line.

honestly though. In the cities particularly, the diocese has so many abandoned churches they won't even sell because of ... greed. They're getting salvaged left and tight by meth heads. At least try to find one similar to salvage for Maria Stein.
