This is where they have really missed Elvis Grbac on the sidelines in recent years. He has struggled this season. I recall one accurate long pass in the Mentor game and it was dropped at the Mentor goal line. That is it.
It's time for a coach decision. Martin, Spencer, and Webster. The present offense, Marty notwithstandingI've seen many times this year where he should just go down or throw away and he puts it up for grabs...
Coach Kyle has personally focused on special teams in the past. Not sure if that’s still the case now that he’s calling plays.Hoban clearly had better athletes but was out coached by the Ignatius staff.
Who coaches the special teams?
I’m not sold on Spencer as an upgrade to Pfaff at this point, but agree on Martin and Webster. Obviously Webster hasn’t been healthy, but we’ll see. It's time for a coach decision. Martin, Spencer, and Webster. The present offense, Marty notwithstanding
is less than even mediocre. Make the bold moves. It sure can not hurt. Need of fresh blood.
Chico handles the special teams. That’s good coaching, as always.Hoban clearly had better athletes but was out coached by the Ignatius staff.
Who coaches the special teams?
I'm guessing by coaches since have heard what sounded like slamming before tooI wish SIBN had replay capability. It looked like the blocked kick took a perfect one bounce into the Ignatius player who caught in stride. Also is the SIBN broadcast facility next to the Ignatius coaches booth? Several times some very colorful language came through. Also, I think this year's camera operator is the best SIBN has had a while. Kid does a great job.
The ball was tipped by Taliak and spun up in the air. Pike caught it in stride in the air which was why he was able to run it back. Nice! From cleveland.com:
The defense played well but had some injuries again. (Likely to the best player)For all of the negativity, this team has really done well since halftime of the Mentor game. They really outplayed the Cardinals in the second half and followed that with three wins, including the big one over Hoban. 6-4 is the likely ending, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they give St Eds and St X their toughest games of the season.
Defense -- Well deserved.From cleveland.com:
You're right. When I originally posted, the entire page was displayed. I deleted it.Wrong tweet, Tom.
Tyris Dickerson was outstanding before these 3. He signed with Eastern Kentucky but now is at Notre Dame collegeYes, Sperling was excellent, as were Dawson and Trayanum before him. Hoban has had a tremendous RB pipeline. What’s even scarier is how good their offense could be with a little more creativity.
That’s so opposing coaching staffs don’t have an additional game and camera angle to scout the Cats. Standard operating procedure in high school and college football nowadaysNice!
Not sure why, but, the SIBN has already taken down the recording of the Hoban game while the Mentor and Euclid games are available for replay.
Good to see you still in the football forum AZ. By the way, nobody uses the word pitch when playing soccer in USA. I know you’re a diehard soccer fan, but you’ll get there watching the wildcats at their prime. Is it possible that Pfaff is overthrowing his receivers on the deep routes, when compared to his success last year, is that this year's receivers just aren't that fast? On a positive note, I liked his pass to Lenahan in the flat where Lenahan had plenty of room to do his thing.
It is called “the pitch” though.Good to see you still in the football forum AZ. By the way, nobody uses the word pitch when playing soccer in USA. I know you’re a diehard soccer fan, but you’ll get there watching the wildcats at their prime.
