St. Ignatius basketball 2023-2024

I only mentioned the dunking because I haven't seen many guards at Ignatius that can dunk in game that also can hurt you from the outside with a pure jumper. I have seen many opponents of Ignatius have that arsenal though lol.
That’s fair. Still not sure what Malcom was getting at cause Quinn is like that lol

How do the 6 Northeast Districts work again? Isnt it possible for Ignatius and Garfield respective district tournaments to have different regional assignments this year?

Absolutely two districts feed into Toledo Region while the other 4 head to Kent. The big difference this year is there is no East/West district all teams are all together. So if you’re a D1 in Youngstown you can choose a bracket that feeds into the Toledo Regional instead of only going Kent and vice versa

As krs1 mentioned, it is quite possible that one team selects one of the 4 districts leading to the Kent regional and the other team selects one of the 2 districts leading to the Akron/Toledo regional. They would only match up if they could reach the state finals

Region 1 is Akron/Toledo: NE 5 vs. NE 6 and NW 1 vs. NW2
Region 2 is Kent: NE1 vs. NE 3 and NE2 vs. NE4

State: Kent vs. Columbus region and Akron/Toledo vs. Cincinnati region

Thanks for the clarification. Ill really be interested to see where Garfield chooses to go assuming Ignatius will got to EC or Lakewood. Also interesteing and a little confusing to me that last years NE#5 or #6 was the Copley district (Garfield) while the other was EC (Ignatius)

Physical location of the district (EC, Lakewood, Copley, Twinsburg, Euclid, Alliance) may not be the determining factor for the coaches now with the new system. It is all about their seeding and who they prefer to possibly match up against in their district and region

Current MaxPreps RPI

Being seeded in the top 3-4 could be important if they want to put off a potential match up until as late in the tourney as possible

For the sake of NE Ohio basketball fans, I hope they both end up in the Kent regional. The SI / GH matchup would be amazing for a regional championship game.
