Springfield vs. Ellet

My prediction
Springfield 18
Ellet. 12

Springfield will win this game if Ellet doesnt get any transfers.. looks like East swept up the transfers from St.V...Hoban.. so chances are Ellet will be 5-5 this year.

Springfield returns all starters but a couple receivers. But on the flip they get Ickes back as a #1 wide out and 3 year b-ball starter.

Q-b hasnt taken a day off since last game. I havnt seen a bad ball thrown yet.

Then you get Zach Dilauro ...arguably the #1 defensive player in the ptc or Akron for that matters teeing off on anybody that has the pigskin in his hand or girl for the "Ellet" squad.. heads are gonna roll this year.

He started at Coventry in 8th grade. And many kids open enroll at Coventry from Kenmore and Firestone Park. So it kind of is "in town" for us. And actually, once upon a time, Coventry Township stretched all the way up north to Route 76.

Does he live in Coventry? Doesnt matter when he enrolled. The fact is the junk in Coventry thinks they are better than the Kenmore/Firestone Park people (when in reality it is very similar with the exception of a small strip of Coventry owned by out of staters) but want to benefit from the athletes....

Well, Coventry is obviously doing something right...just ask the parents of the over 800 students that open enroll here... And it is pretty much a stretch to say we think we are better then the Akroners. Because we have the highest percentage of students open enrolled in the state. And those kids are coming from...Akron. If we thought we were better than Akron people, Im pretty sure OE wouldnt account for 38 percent of our student body. And I will add, that we have not been relying just on Akron students for our athletics. Dusty Burkhart, Jaret Skaggs, Nathan Skaggs, Zack Lake, Steven Locher, Conner Wess, Johnny McGhee, are/were all in-district students, and their contributions have been extremely valuable. I assure you kids are not going to Coventry for the express purpose of playing sports, thats Hoban and $V$M. They're here because of our academics. When this kid in question, Treon transferred in, our football team came off of a 2-8 record. If Treon was looking for Football, he would have joined up with his cousin at Hoban. Anywhere but here.

After what I saw at Manchester tonight I would be very optimistic if I were a Springfield fan...for one year anyway.
 
Scrimmage looked good last night.. Marlington has a good front four blowing up the run. Aric Parks dropped a couple then came alive snatching balls and running good routes. Paul Stubbs throwing duff balls came alive as well second qtr. Dalauro got that speed on that dump pass .... i would hate to be the tackler down field taking the blow he will deliver. Marlingtons qb delivered a great performance . Spartans had a very hard time containing him.

Marlingtons stadium is the shiznit. very nice place.

Springfield will get their one win every other decade in the series then use that as an excuse why they should continue to play Ellet. The "money maker" excuse is not a good one anymore as the crowds arent anything out of the norm for the SHS Ellet game anymore. Ellet is stupid to play the game, they get zero points from Springfield and it does not normally test them for a (used to be) tough Tallmadge team. Any other coaching staff for either of these schools would get rid of the game. They need to scrap this game just like SHS did a couple of decades ago. SHS basketball got the clue after a few 50 point beatdowns to play a more manageable schedule.

Springfield will win easily based on Ellet, not Springfield. I am sure a normal Ellet team would beat this SHS team by a million like every other year.

I dont see Ellet competing anytime soon in a few years if that. the way the city is set up now Ellet wont get those transfers they desperately need every year to win. Ellets little 6-4 winning record every year is done.. Yost seen the future now hes laughing his off.

To your other point, Ellet has a nice freshmen class, homegrown no doubt! The RB lives 2 blocks from me.
C'mon, the new school and turf outta be good for a couple transfers!
Biggest problem right now is holding on to these dinosaur coaches whose only claim to fame is longevity.

Still should have been a blowout.
Springfield is as bad as ever, get KV out of there.
After Friday Ellet may never lose another game in this series.
