Agree on Centerville/Springboro for D1 North. Have to consider St. X and Moeller in the conversation for the #1 in D1 South, right? Both tied Mason headtohead. Moe is still undefeated with some ties against quality teams and X only loss is to Iggy. The 1-2-3 will be interesting in D1 South. Could the Moe/X game tonight decide it? Have to assume if either finds a way to win convincingly it might push them over the top.

If Carroll loses to Alter tonight, does Tipp sneak in at #1 in North D2? And D2 central, Oakwood prolly the favorite but if Alter beats Carroll tonight, they make a strong case because they only lost to Indian Hill, Tipp and Wyoming. Agree on D2 South, Summit losing at the wrong time and Wyoming resume lacking overall plus not really any quality results in almost a month. That plus Indian Hill has been on a streak at the right time.

Mariemont seems to be losing steam with recent results. Do they have injuries? They're last win over a decent opponent was Georgetown in mid-Sep. No real quality wins. Could Madiera slip in at #1? They're coming in on a hot streak with 4 straight wins including a win over D1 Fairfield. You could argue that Seven Hills deserves a look above Mariemont too. Only two losses and some good results.

As the #1 seed, you'd assume they were first to pick, so everyone after them would know the bracket they were on.
Both are #1 seeds. Legacy in the north and mariemont in the south. Pretty sure the draws for north and south were at the same time and in different locations.

Ahh gotcha - now I understand.

No, they probably wouldn't know who was choosing what district at the time.

Yes, both North and South meetings are at the same time. However the tops teams usually talk and try to avoid each other for as long as possible.

D1 for instance......

#1 Centerville will meet up with South 3 - highest south seeded team is #3 Anderson
#2 Springboro will meet up with South 4 - highest south seeded team is #2 St. X
#1 Mason will meet up with North 2 - highest north seeded team is #3 Beavercreek

This is obviously if the top teams take care of business and win their matches.

If they dont talk then these things are purely coincidental but they happen every year pretty much so I'm guessing they talk prior to the meeting.

(Purely My Opinion) -- Anderson is the best team in the south. Prove it game this Saturday vs Mason....can't wait to watch it -- haven't seen Mason since early scrimmage season (and you never know who is playing/missing). Anderson has the most potent attack that I have seen season this season.

I saw Anderson play twice and was very impressed. That said I haven’t watched any of the other top seeds in the south D1. I saw Indian Hill and Wyoming in D2 and both are impressive …complete teams..no obvious flaws…I didn’t check the D2 bracket but I think that would be a war of a regional final here in the southwest if that is possible.

Not talking doesn’t surprise me. At one time the Legacy coach was not very well liked by some other coaches. Maybe that’s changed I don’t know but he was considered to be a little “eccentric “.

Centerville will be the team to beat out of the Southwest. They beat Mason and St X during the regular season and have 7 starters back from last year's state finals team.

That may very well be true, but the win over Mason was 1-0 and happened on September 3rd and St. X is the 3rd or 4th best team in Cincinnati right now. I'm of the belief that Anderson might be the team to beat out of southwest Ohio. They went up 3-0 on Mason in the first half, but couldn't hold the lead this past Saturday.

Centerville has to contend with my hometown Lebanon Warriors before they need to talk about getting to the final four. Lebanon has played some solid teams well in the past couple of weeks. They tied Miamisburg, lost to Carroll 1-0, lost to Alter 2-1, and beat Butler 5-1 last night. I still think Centerville will win by 2 or more goals though.

Looks like we have one more round of games before we start to get some firm answers. \

Looks like Mason, Moe, St X, have easy layups this coming round.... Anderson too before things quickly get interesting late next week.

Enlighten us as to what those "pretty obvious reasons" might be.
I did not share the reasons based on the superior position this poster seemed to assume with the word “Enlighten.”.

First, Legacy had a memorable season for which they should be proud. They have some impressive players for certain.

Reasons I identified after following the team: their schedule, the GK having 160+ saves, opposing teams needing only to man their key forward, et cetera.

I wrote the word "enlighten" because you implied we should know the reasons since they were pretty obvious. I do not follow D3 schools in Xenia. Their keeper averaged over 10 saves a game during the regular season. How were they able to beat Miami East, Yellow Springs, and Dayton Christian?

I did a little digging into the 160+. The website says he had 162 saves. This number has to be inaccurate. For example, the MBC website states the goalie has 26 saves against Yellow Springs, but it also states that Yellow Springs only took 16 shots and three of those shots ended up in the goal.

I think those numbers are self reported by each team with no verification.

Head scratchers for me in the southwest….Legacy, Indian Hill and Milford bow out in sectionals…I didn’t see Legacy but saw the other 2 teams twice…didn’t see it coming…Anderson-Centerville should be fantastic!
