I enjoy the slow results.
It does more harm than good when the timing system misses a runner and they have to reinsert runners after results are immediate.
The last 10 years:
I have seen teams celebrate early. I have seen teams cry to only realize they made the next round.
Last week at the MS state meet, runners were pulled off the podium and others were inserted. How horrible is that?
I enjoyed the old system. The system when they would tally the results. Double-check the results and the team would gather around waiting for the team's results. These were special moments for teams as they huddled in a circle. Special bonding moments that we have not seen in the last 10 years or so.
I would love it if OHSAA had a system in place similar to NXR. Post the individuals via live results but hold off on team scores. Wait until every individual is verified via camera. And then announce team results before posting them online. This would only be better for the sport.
There is no counterargument.
