Shaq’s former Richfield mansion for sale. Of course it has a basketball court

Go Buckeyes
There are several million-dollar homes fit for a king in these parts. But there’s only one fit for a Shaq.

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal lived at 3377 E. Galloway Drive in the Glencairn Forest development when he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2009-10 season. Now, the expansive six-bedroom, five-and-a-half bath, one-indoor-basketball-court home can be yours for $2.75 million.

Is there an area with more high-profile athletes in Northeast Ohio?

Shaq, Lebron, Bernie Kosar, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and I am sure many more.

Gates Mills maybe? For athletes, Richfield is probably more convenient as it is closer to Independence (Cavs) and Berea (Browns) not to mention the airport. Also 77 to Cleveland is better than 90 or 480 from Gates Mills

Didnt Pete Nance and Shyanne Sellers go to Revere?

2.75 mm for that is a steal. In LA, that sells for 10+mm.

If you can’t pick Shaq’s house up and move it to LA, it’s not a steal. Prices anywhere other than the neighborhood as defined by the market for Shaq’s house are irrelevant.

Compared to what? Prices for similar houses in LA? That’s not how pricing real estate works.

This is the you get in Bloomfield Hills in Detroit. One less bed & bath for slightly less.

Why are you showing me comparable sales from different parts of the country? It’s almost as if you’re forgetting the most important factor in real estate.

Couldn’t find another house like that in Cleveland. So I went to a city that’s in proximity to it, and looked up the wealthiest neighborhood in that city.

Detroit & Cleveland are pretty comparable.

Remember the Coliseum used to be there. Growing up I remember Brad Daugherty getting his hair cut in west Akron, probably the closest black barbershop to the Richfield Coliseum.

You’re getting warmer, but I doubt an appraiser would use a comp from a Detroit suburb for a residential appraisal in Richfield Township. They’d likely stay in Ohio and search gradually outward. A specialty commercial property appraisal maybe but likely not with residential.

Regardless, my guess is it’s likely overpriced at $2.75M, just based on the its county auditor assessment of $1.44M.

Someone living in a 1500sq ft home in LA could sell their 1 and 1/2 car garage and buy this, with enough money left over to buy season Cav tickets.

When I watch those shows, I wonder how they can afford those prices on what appears to be mid level jobs. I also wonder why those that can telecommute don't move to Ohio and live in mansions instead of those tiny huts.

Well when your company drops an email at 4:50 on Friday saying be back in office permanently by Wednesday or we will consider it your resignation, its a lot easier to get in the office if your local vs across the country.
