SBAAC Football 2025

Looks like the Clinton county schools are dropping in enrollment. Been hearing CM maybe a thing of the past in ten years. Very dark district with little hope for the future. Needs to be a complete realignment in the near future.

I think 5-10 years from now the SBAAC will see a big realignment and will look completely different.

While in its current state I think the league is well constructed, I don’t know if it’s suitable for the long term as Clermont County continues to grow and Clinton County continues to shrink.

I believe if not mistaken that this incoming sr class beat the" brakes off"of Moeller when they were freshmen. That's why I put them as favorites to win their region. It always seems to be a disgruntled parent. Just get over your grievances. This could be a special year for their team.
For clarities sake, Moeller had 90-100 kids split into 2 teams of Freshman. The team that played CM was their "B" team that didn't include any of their top 30 Freshman who beat Massillon Freshman a couple days after that. I wouldn't use that game as a measuring stick to how good this CM team will be, although I am sure they'll be really good this year and certainly could win that region.

Clinton county has to do something big with the AirPark if they are ever going to attract people to move there. Other than the Air Park there is no reason for people to move to Clinton County. When Airborne was at it's peak, there were great paying jobs and all 4 Clinton County districts were in a good place. Now all 4 are struggling and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.

From everything I've been reading on Facebook, CM's season is a wash. It appears that a few parents are creating such division that it will be impossible to overcome. Everyone on CM'S schedule start licking your chops! The gravy train is going to derail, just like the district. The good news is they have new field turf so they can have safe practices and home soccer and football games.

While Amazon has came in and took over a good portion of the Air Park capacity, nobody is rushing to live in Clinton County to work at Amazon. They are currently doing some building at the air park from my understanding. They could be doing something with the air park.

All four county districts saw great benefits with Airborne/DHL in town. Once they left it’s been down hill ever since, and it isn’t getting better. I actually see it getting worse… I can see some families move to Fayette County as they open the Honda factory and they take jobs there.

Looking at recent board docs, I believe the entire staff last year has been approved for the 2025 season. I also saw that former standout RB Jordy Scanlon will be assisting at the junior high level too.

I just heard that the Clinton Massie school board President resigned today. He was leading the charge against the offensive coordinator. Not sure what will happen now, but I would suspect that his job may be safe.

BOE voted for the OC to keep his position. Heard it was a doozy of a meeting with around 100 people there and over an hour of public participation. Only 1 family spoke out against the program/coaches, the rest supported them.

Hopefully Massie as a community can put this nonsense behind them, celebrate the passing of the levy and put together another great football season.

Steve Olds is out at East Clinton. They are now in search of a new Head coach in May. Things over at EC Football has gone from bad to even worse. That program is in bad bad BAD shape.

Steve is a great guy and a very knowledgeable coach. I know how much he loves East Clinton. He must've had no support or talent.

I have a strong feeling he was getting fed up with the community and it was draining him and it pushed him out. This was from last season… Seems like he had little support from the parents and community and they were actively against him. Coach Olds was doing his best, but he just didn’t have much to work with. Gotta feel for the guy. I’ll be interested to see if he does an interview with WNJ. I’d love to hear more about what happened

Little update, saw a long post on Facebook. But it looks to be a very messy situation. Apparently some people on the Board of Education at EC wanted Olds out as Head Coach, and they didn’t get their way so they voted out the OC and DC this week and it’s looking like that’s what pushed Olds to resign. Seems like the superintendent and AD both wanted Olds and his entire staff back, but the Board wanted them all gone and they got their wish. East Clinton has completely cleaned house in their football program. I don’t know if it’s true, but I’m also hearing they let go of the middle school coaches as well (or maybe they were looking for some?)… what a cluster f*** of a situation to do in May. Looks like EC pulled a Massie but actually went through with it! East Clinton might’ve just put the nail in the coffin on their football program. I don’t see why anyone would want to play for or support this program after this fiasco.

Could be the “death” of the program…..be careful what you wish for!

East Clinton’s program has already been shaky… last season they didn’t have enough players to have some of their JV games. I would imagine after this fiasco their football program is real close to being on life support.. Hearing rumors that a good amount of boys could look to open enroll at nearby districts like Miami Trace, Hillsboro and Wilmington..

Being told that there is around 10 applicants for the EC job. Hopefully they hire someone soon.
They need to get someone in soon! I’m glad they have some applicants though… because turning around EC was already hard, and after this fiasco with the Board and Steve Olds, it’s only going to be harder to being on the borderline of impossible IMO. He was very well liked by the players, and I don’t know if it’s 100% true, but rumors are going around that there are kids looking to transfer to new schools.

I’m pretty sure CNE had like a 20 year stretch from 1997-2017 where they did not finish .500 or above and had multiple 0-10 seasons. I think we might be seeing EC suffer something similar.

I’d imagine only a younger coach trying to get started would want to entertain the EC job. Not a good look with an entire coaching staff not returning top to bottom. Seems like the community is rallying around the previous stuff/frustrated with the whole situation. Good luck to whoever gets it but I don’t see much success in the future.

I'd love to see that list. Guessing O'Roark (former Blanchester and Hillsboro Head Coach), Wayne Stacey (I think he applies for every SBAAC job) and knowing EC probably a youth coach.

Wayne Stacey would be crazy to leave what he has at Batavia for EC. Batavia has the Athletes to compete at a very high level in the American division. I won’t be surprised if they keep up with CM in a few years.

Stacey won’t leave Batavia. He’s got a good thing there in both Football and Track.

O’Roark lives and coaches in Florida now I think.
