SBAAC Football 2025

I don't believe their able to host track meets because of the unsafe condition of the track and people are injured every year safely navigating the stadium conditions. Hopefully the state will take over the management of this district ASAP.

They’re not that bad if you were to ask me. Their football stadium seating is small, but I overall like the field a lot, it’s pretty nice. Their gym is small, but CM is a D4 school so I’m not expecting a massive gym. I think their facilities are totally appropriate for their size.
I agree. The stands for sure need updated. There is no question there. The field itself is nice though. As for all of the other facilities, CM has some pretty good facilities. The gym is pretty nice. The tennis courts are very nice and the ball fields are nothing to say "Wow" over but they are kept in very good condition.

2025 Divisional Breakdowns:

D3- Wilmington, Goshen, Batavia, Western Brown

D4- New Richmond, Clinton-Massie, Bethel-Tate

D5- Clermont NE, Williamsburg

D6- Blanchester, East Clinton

This looks to be the exact same as last season.

Salad, looks like cm is in the cat bird seat in region 16. The other SBC teams are one and done. Hopefully cm can get their situation straightened out with all the district difficulties.

I was talking with the CM athletic director the other night at a baseball game and I got the sense there could be some shake up within the coaching staff. Also at the baseball game I was told a few of the top returners from last years squad are not playing this year. The April board meeting could be interesting…..#golow
Any news on this situation? I'm hearing they (BOE) are after the OC. Wondering if this will become bigger than just him though, similar to valley view a few years ago when the HC left after they went after a assistant. I heard they (coaches) were at the April board meeting but this situation wasn't talked about?!

I was told a few people showed up in support of the OC at the last board meeting. A former alumni spoke on his behalf. Other than that I've not heard anything positive about the situation when it comes to the board members. They are attempting to derail the OC's career without a justified reason I know that.

As long as the weather holds up I’ll find out some good stuff tomorrow morning on the first tee box! #golow

Here is what I have heard.... This comes down to one position and one position only, the QB. A family feels that their relative (who is a soph) needs to be the QB instead of the OC's son. I have been to a few games over the years and didn't know the QB position at Massie is that coveted. All they do is turn around and hand the ball off. Now there has been a few QB's come through who could run the option very, very well, with the last one being the OC's oldest son. I stood along the fence line one game, a little to close to the Massie side and heard a few fans screaming and yelling at the coaches and the QB. It was crazy to see that much dislike towards a kid who is playing a game they love and winning. Or to the coaching staff for consistently putting out a winning product, and making deep playoff runs.

All good things come to an end and the McSurley era is coming to an end (unfortunately). He built Massie football and it is ashame that EGO's are going to destroy what so many people (players and coaches) put into it. As far as the next coach after Dan, whenever that will be, good luck. No jobs available, pay to play is coming, not sure of the quality of coaches your are going to get. Killen's name was mentioned earlier and that is interesting for sure. I know the Massie principal is one of his best friends, his wife teaches in the district, and he does have ties. I have not talked to him since the playoffs last year and I know he loves where he is with his job, his house, and coaching at Bellbrook. Not sure he would make a move at this point, plus not sure if he wants to deal with the Clinton County BS from either school he has been associated with. I am also sure, the same family that is after the OC is not real big fans of Scott since he went to Wilmington years ago.

I hope it works out for Dan and his program that he has built. Dan deserves to get his 300 career win with his staff that has been loyally by his side. Best of luck!

From an outside perspective, I thought the OC son improved quite a bit from his sophomore season to junior season throwing the ball and commanding the offense. Do people outside of the upset family think the other QB can help win more? Coaching is incredibly difficult anymore. Not saying anyone is ever above criticism but you have a HC and most of the staff with 3 rings and are questioned. Crazy.

Wow. Been hearing the school is in such a mess, they may dissolve the entire district into other neighboring districts. Sounds like this is pretty mild compared to the big picture of getting a levy passed with the current terrible economy.

A bunch of clowns on the BOE there at CM. Lets fire the OC cause we want a new QB on the HS football team :ROFLMAO: Crazy that this is even a topic of discussion. Meanwhile that district is falling apart and the BOE concern is with the OC and not passing a levy... 🤡🤡💩🤡🤡

Is this really in the works? I’ve said before that I could see Clinton County eventually following the footsteps of Fayette County and having one school district in the county seat (Washington CH and Wilmington) and then one school district that serves the rest of the county (Miami Trace and CM/EC/Blan consolidated).

However, I knew CM has been in some deep s###, but I didn’t know it was getting to this point…

The people making the decisions in the CM district are wreckless. I understand why people vote no now. Zero trust.

Probably not a lot of tax revenue from Clarksville and Harveysburg. The flee market is abandon and there's only one traffic light in the whole district. Pretty sad they've gotten to this point. Sounds like poor management going back several years ago. Hopefully they can get the football program straightened out. It looks as if it's the only thing going for the district right now.

Poor management for the last 15 years to be exact. :poop:

I believe if not mistaken that this incoming sr class beat the" brakes off"of Moeller when they were freshmen. That's why I put them as favorites to win their region. It always seems to be a disgruntled parent. Just get over your grievances. This could be a special year for their team.

I thought the Senior class that won State in 2021 beat Moeller as Freshman, but I could be wrong. Let the big man and his staff coach, BOE. If it ain't broke don't try to fix it. Its sounds like the BOE destroys everything they touch so this could get ugly on Lebanon Rd.

Yeah, that tracks. Word around Clarksville is the BOE is going after the OC because of an incident last year where several folks from the family of the back-up QB got into it with the starting QB at an away game. Probably the same crew you heard yelling at the starting QB before.

Not sure how the OC responded, but sounds like one of the main BOE members, who's related to that family, is now the one pushing to axe the OC.
Sounds like a classy way to handle it……

I was right this group of sr's beat big Moe 42-6. Last years sr's lost in a close one. CM is 2 and 1 against Moeller freshmen.

Big Board meeting coming up in May will determine if the OC is back on the sidelines for Massie. All signs point to a 2-2 split right now. Last board meeting a community member talked about all the OC’s accolades…never once mentioned the stud running backs they had over the years to help make the OC look good. IMO anybody could have called the Massie offense over the last several years especially when you have the horses to do it. Beautiful day at majestic! #golow

Tell me you know nothing about coaching high school footbal without actually telling me.

So you are saying that there were no good RB's at CM before the OC took over the offense?....goodness, what a dumb comment.

Massie has had a stable of running backs over the years…. Anybody could call the offense and be successful…love hole #15 #golow

The audio from that board meeting is public....the guy mentions one accolade and talks about the impact of the coach and the trust he has with the BOE when it comes to decision making. Which in this case, is wreckless. If they non renew the OC, watch the domino effect it will have on the program and we shall revist your comment, "IMO anybody could have called the Massie offense over the last several years". CM community is about to find out the grass isnt greener on the other side if this goes through.

Easy to make that comment when your NOT doing it….I would say throw your name in the hat for the OC position and see how easy that job really is in those 25 seconds between plays. Yep looks easy against those lousy teams but it’s quite different against quality teams….
