Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein announced Monday that he will join a group of prosecutors from across the country in pledging not to prosecute abortion cases after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and Ohio all but banned the procedure.

Late Friday, an Ohio law set to take effect if Roe v. Wade was overturned that makes providing an abortion in the state after cardiac activity can be detected, or about six weeks into pregnancy, a fifth-degree felony punishable by up to one year in prison.

There's a mounting body of evidence on how having or being denied an abortion affects pregnant people, including impacts on their mental health and the finances of them and their children. The effects on their male partners have received less attention.

In the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, experts say that no longer should be the case.

"It's really naïve to think that the repeal of Roe is only going to impact women and pregnant people," said Dr. Bethany Everett, a professor of sociology at the University of Utah.

Always thought the hypocrisy of the abortion argument was the different approach to men and women. To the man, you shouldn't have had sex if you didn't want to have a baby. To the woman, you can have sex and make a choice later.
 
I thought the stereotypically male attitude toward birth control was pretty much "not my problem" and if pregnancy resulted then deny, abandon, and/or pray she aborts. The real gentleman would at least help pay.

With today's technology you'd think there would be a "male pill" by now, w/ minor side effects to hormone balance, mood, bloating and nausea. Must not have the will for it - yet. Ready guys?

Good for you. Let's pretend the whole world is christian value Trump voters who unlike him never engage in sex except to procreate. That solves alot.

Truth be told many young women get abortions cuz they are ashamed and terrified of their holier than thou parents for getting pregnant and don't want to get disowned. Or divorced.

An advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in Illinois is out of a job after she sent out a viral tweet explaining she would no longer prescribe “viagra” to “white” men who vote conservative. The nurse, identified by @Libsoftiktok as Shawna Harris, sent out the “discriminatory” tweet from her now-deleted Twitter account @shawnalynn_75. “I prescribe meds.. I can also choose not to prescribe them. So… from now on.. if you are a white male who votes conservative, your penis needs to ask God for the power to rise. No more viagra.” Her tweet came Friday, hours after the U.S. Supreme Court’s historic decision in the Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, which overturned Roe v. Wade, finding the United States Constitution does not grant the right to abortion. “I am allowed not to prescribe based on need. If you think God can provide, then why would I not allow for that?” she said in a subsequent tweet, according to @Libsoftiktok. “Conservative men rely on God to provide… I think that is a wonderful idea. Let us pray…” After being identified as a nurse at Sarah Bush Lincoln Medical Center in Cole County, IL, the hospital condemned Harris’s comments on Sunday. “This is not the practice of Sarah Bush Lincoln. We provide care to everyone regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race religious [sic], etc,” the hospital said. “This is being addressed. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.” On Monday, Sarah Bush Lincoln announced the nurse was no longer with the hospital noting that the APRN, “who posted a discriminatory message on social media over the weekend, has resigned.”

The consequences are the same as they are for all of you people policies. A drain on the taxpayers. How about this. It takes a man and a woman(I know you people struggle defining what those are) for the woman to get pregnant. That man and woman are now responsible for caring and paying for that baby. See Mr. Lib, it's not the taxpayers responsibility to pay for the actions of others.

It is not invented for the simple fact of the matter that men don’t control access to sex.
Women decide who they are going to have sex with, not men.
Go figure a woman can easily deceive a man into having unprotected sex with her, even by lying to the man by saying she is ”protected”.
Some men can resist, most can’t.

What if the man and woman who did not want to continue the pregnancy, also do not want to care for or pay for the lucky child? You gonna make them?

There is no mandatory vaccine. Unless you want to partake in certain jobs for certain employers. Kinda like no shirts no shoes no service. I know several people who are unvaccinated to this day. It would unconstitutional for the federal government to mandate them.

It's there responsibility. If they are not caring for the child, the state/county should remove the child to foster care while continuing to make the biological parents financially responsible. Just answer this: when are people accountable for their actions?

This is all BS. I don't believe States can pass ballot initiatives. You can say you support Abortion, but sign your name to it. I want to see some States try to pass Abortion rights. I think these evil people know it won't pass. Good vrs Evil. Simple stuff
