Rest in Peace, LCD

Im very torn up over this. LCD was a great friend of mine. I traveled with him to go to FL once a year, helped him run his businesses a few years back. The reason for his passing is TBD at this point. No one really knows.

Sorry for your loss Gulp. I know you and LCD were very close. How old was LCD?

This hits. Yappi Icon. Got lots of giggles out of LCD's curmudgeonly posts. My condolences to his family and friends.

Enjoyed being around him on the small handful of occasions I met him in person. My heart breaks for his family. RIP.

Wow! I was hoping this was some sort of sick joke. Evidently not. LCD will be missed around here. I always looked forward to his posts. RIP LCD.

When I scroll down a Yappi page, if I see a Cardinal helmet avatar appear at the bottom, my eyes invariably skip down to see if/what he had written. My disappointment will obviously continue.

Give or take,
A little love, but never hate,
The angels kissed,
A fellow poster, who will be missed.

:>---

Kinda bummed I didn't meet up with him when I had the chance. He def seemed like a cool dude and someone you would be proud to call your friend.

I already miss him standing behind the Lakota West sideline yelling 'you suck, Cox' when West visited Colerain.

LCD is one of the few posters on Yappi who could make me laugh out loud on a regular basis......no matter what the topic.

For my money he's the #1 poster of all-time and every bit as entertaining, if not moreso IRL. If he's this missed on here then I can't imagine how much he'll be missed by those that were close to him. Prayers for them as they get through this.

I have a lot of memories of LCD but the best one was when I first started working for him he had a tennant that was very late on the rent and he called the tennant in front of me yelled that he was coming to get the rent and if they didnt have the money things were going to get ugly. And he walked over, opened his safe and grabbed two guns and looked at me and said, "You want one of these for our ride over?" and I was just terrified. I declined and he told me to drive his big escalade over while he told me how we were going to rob the tennants.

Turns out it was all a prank. He never actually called anyone, no one was late on rent, and he really got me good all the way to the point of us parking outside of the building. He thought it was the most hilarious thing to see me sweating bullets terrified at what I thought was going to happen.

 Busted out laughing in the office. That's fantastic. Hats off to you, LCD.

I'm glad MoDude has decided to keep some class about him. I guess LCD was one thing related to Colerain that didn't suck. :dang:

Yeah, I feel the same way. Keep hoping this is some kind of sick joke, but I guess not.

I never knew Garret in real life, though we had exchanged pm's on a few subjects. I kept on meaning to meet up with him for a drink or two on one of my trips back to Cincinnati, as he always seemed to be a really great guy. I truly did appreciate his sense of humor and his posting style. I am actually very sad that I will not get to meet him irl.

Do we know of the cause yet?

I didn't know LCD irl but this is classic LCD based on the way he posted here. Thanks for sharing.

LCD was a man of many words but I really think he would give the shirt off his back if he saw hope in you.

Yesterday an old friend from high school saw my status about his death and sent me a message on FB explaining how he met Garret 6 months ago and how Garret went out of his way to help the guy get his life together and get him out of some problems he was in. And every week they would talk for hours about the guy's progress and how things were going. I never even knew Garret and the other guy knew each other, they just met randomly in public and Garret went out of his way to help some random stranger. That pretty much tells you about his character.

He was very opinionated, judgmental, and stereotyped more than anyone I know, but deep down he was a caring person.

Another LCD story:

LCD frequented Hollywood Casino with his wife a few times a month. As I was playing poker frequently there back in the day, we would enjoy a few beers and live music and I would go back to what I was doing and he and his wife would hit the slots. He had a few bartenders that loved him and he loved them.

LCD was serving a 1 year ban from Hollywood because some idiot at the bar was hassling one of the bartenders after the bar had been closed. So LCD stepped in to escort the guy out of the bar area. I think the guy refused and hit LCD.

I'm not sure what exactly happened from here, but all I received was an e-mail from him with his 1 year ban notice and a text that said, "Just got out of the slammer. Not exactly sure what happened. My attorney said the video is pretty good and that a bar stool was involved."
