What do you think it will be?

I say 5-5. The class has talent but i don't think they have the work ethic the previous classes had. If they have good work ethic they will be above 5-5 but the work ethic is a question. Hope they have the work ethic to help the talent. Good luck next year to the Hoover Vikings!

I will go with 6-4, its an easier sked. 7-3 is a stretch, so I will stick with 6-4, finishing in the middle of the pack in the FED.

vs. Central: Win - Should be a fairly close game, but Central didn't really accomplish much last year, either, so I'll give this one squarely to Hoover.

vs. Coolidge: Win - this shouldn't be a close game. Colts were 5-6 last year with just one win over a 500+ team. Average loss was 38-5 in which they gave up 50 or more three times.

at Louisville: Loss - Hoover may come into this 2-0 and on a minor roll, but the Leps at home aren't easy. This rivalry game should go to Louisville without too much fanfare.

at Boardman: Toss-Up - After starting 0-2, the Spartans may have beaten Chaney last week, so they may be looking at putting a winning streak together. If not, having Hoover at home is the best way to do it and after last weeks black & blue game with Louisville, I'd say Boardman has the edge. However, we'll keep it real by saying toss-up on this one.

vs. Lake: Toss-Up - I'd say Hoover for sure after (1) Lake losing so much to grad and (2) the Streaks having McK and Jackson in preceeding weeks. However, you cannot count out a Durbin team. Fortunately for the Vikes, this ones at home.

vs. GlenOak: Loss - This should be GO's best year in some time.

at Fitch: Loss - Even though Fitch lost a lot, they are defending champs and tough to beat at Falcon.

at Perry: Toss-Up - This is awfully close to giving Perry the definitive win, as they (1) are definitely improving and (2) playing at home. However, Hoover has consistently played Perry tough, so it's too close to call.

vs. McK: Loss - Pups should be at about 5-2 or better by now and not looking to be slowed down by Hoover in front of rivalry week. But if injuries have mounted, you may see some kids from McK resting and that would be good for Hoover.

vs. Jackson: Toss-Up - Last year was abysmal, but it was because a lot of kids gave up. This year won't be that way, plus the Bears have little returning. Game should be close. If it weren't a rivalry game, this would likely be a Hoover win.

Wins: 2
Losses: 4
Toss-Ups: 4

Splitting the toss-ups, I'd say about 4-6 this year. I can't see the Vikings going above 6-4 or below 2-8.

These boys have a tremendous work ethic, convinced not to repeat last year's dismal season. Hoover has never had the biggest, strongest, or best athletes, all they have is their desire to win and persistent great work ethic. Make no mistake this team is hungry, and I guarantee they outwork any other Federal League team.
There is no way this team does not make the playoffs, and will have at least an 8-2 record.

Nice breakdown. I see Hoover beating Boardman as Boardman has had alot of players quit. They had the George brothers transfer to Warren Harding University. Was that Moses (RB/FB) kid a junior or did he graduate?

GlenOak should be the favorite and very well might win. Although the game will be played on grass and GlenOak is not as good on grass. Also they will be in the middle of the FED grind. I think this is a very winnable game for Hoover. I am not convinced their defense will be anywhere as good as last year. They didn't have a true RB last year Penn (converted WR) and Bednar (LB playing FB), and I am sure they will plug some athlete into the spot. I see this GlenOak team being alot like the Hoover teams when Blackledge was their, the QB carrying the show. He has some young and inexpirenced WR's (they do have McNew who is solid).

Lake, Perry and Jackson are all tossups as I agree. I hope to win 2 of these 3.

MCKinley, Fitch and Louisville will be the toughest 3 games IMHO.

Hoover has 6 home games, I think they need to win atleast 4 games at home.

I see Hoover in the 4-6 spots in the FED and possibly #3.

If you haven't been to any practices, I suggest you go and see for yourself. This team has a great work ethic. Its night and day vs. last year (the practices not the work ethic, last years team worked hard just didn't have it.)

Reminds me of 2003 - low expectations - outstanding results. We'll see how they look on tuesday!

6-4, with, as previously stated, about 4 games that could go either way. If things break right, they could win 8. If things break wrong, they could win 4. I'll go with 6-4, close to sneaking in a playoff spot, maybe they do.

Hey mysteryViking00, thats good information. But aside from the controversy, can you give us a feel for how this team is comming together and what your predictions are for this season? Thanks.

viking,

Your a junior and go to Hoover?

Have you slept through all your classes since the 6th grade?

Really you should keep your mouth shut about in house stuff bud. I know some of the seniors and i'm sure if they know who you are you could be in for some trouble at practice haha.

Hey mysteryViking00 If you were a true teammate, you would not be spreading rumors that could harm your team chemistry. Your team has a chance to possibly do something really good. Enjoy your experience and stop spreading rumors, add to the team do not detract from it

Hey Fritz, can't you veto that Mystery Sell Out from this site.

Honestly kid, all teams have problems and you keep them on the down low for the teams success because a team is a family. So if you don't feel like you are a part of the famliy than maybe you should find something esle to do with your time in the fall.

His post was deleted. I was out of town when it was posted, Thanks for reporting the post. I do not mind open minded discussion but this post was totally wrong.

This probably doesn't belong in this thread but I'll ask anyway.

Is Fineburg (sp) still playing football? I noticed in many of the preseason comments made by Hertler and others that his name is never brought up. Did someone see the light?

Just curious.

Kyle Feinberg is playing, he was mentioned in the Rep as a diiference maker if he steps up. He is playing W/R and DB - not sure if he will start on defense or on offense since they are trying to 2 platoon.

Thanks

I know throughout his career he couldn't take much of a hit and was wondering if he decided to give it up.

I didn't get to see the preview in the Rep.

Sorry I butchered his name.

Kyle Feinberg is probably Hoover's best athlete, and in my opinion, should be playing both ways. He didn't see any time on defense vs. Central, but I don't know if Hoover can afford to leave him off of the defense.

I will stay and not waiver on a 7-3 season that i predicted BEFORE the season started, and fighting for a play-off spot.

Hoover upsets GlenChoke, and loses to McKinley.

The Vikings drop one other game out of the rest of there games and goes 7-3 and 2nd place in the Fed,and fights for the play-offs.

I will also stay with my PRESEASON prediction that Hoover is the most underated team in the Fed.

I think even some Viking fans are starting to agree with some of these predictions.:D
