OHSAA RELEASED 2025 Tentative Divisional Breakdowns (April 3) FOR FOOTBALL

I may or may not have picked them over Ironton but not by no 30+. They were playing really good ball down the stretch. So was Liberty Center. No need to go hyperbolic.
Grove vs. Liberty Benton - 42-14
LC vs. Liberty Benton - 35-0

Grove vs. Patrick Henry - 27-13
LC vs. Patrick Henry - 21-15

Marion Local vs. Grove - 41-6

Not hyperbolic at all.

I'm actually kinda blown away by this score. ML made Patrick Henry look like they'd never played ball before in 2023. They do that to a lot of people but that game was very bad.

We could do that all day. Avon beat Glenville by 1. Hoban beat Glenville by 20. Avon beat Hoban by 25. Ipso fatso Indian Valley would win D2 or some chit, lol. You are entitled to your opinion but I'll take Ironton and 30+. Though I would probably lean ML for the W. They definitely had a juggernaut last year.

I will say it's very glaring that LC couldn't put 30 on Patrick Henry. While not the same team, look at the highlights of ML playing PH in 2023 in the semifinal game. They blocked 2 punts including one in the endzone, ran an INT back for a TD and I dont believe ever touched the ball on their own side of the 50 yard line except for after kickoff. ML completely overwhelmed them in every facet so even though it may not play out the same way at the end of the season, that score is pretty telling if you ask me.

If LC couldn't overwhelm that PH team, what would happen if they played a ML team that has layers of depth compared to PH? Really makes you wonder.

According to Coach Inselmann on the Black Swamp Podcast it was because they were beat up from the LONG season.......

I am confused. Are we talking about 23 or 24, or both? In 2023 LC beat PH 62-0. ML beat them 42-0.

In any case transitive scores are not reliable indicators. All I said is I am taking Ironton and 30+ points. Geez. If that makes me cuckoo so be it.

No, I'm saying transitive scores at the lower divisions are probably more likely to translate than at the upper divisions. The talent is different and not as much depth and Grove putting up a similar score against PH as LC is pretty eye opening considering the butt whooping ML gave Grove.

Doesn't make you cukoo, I dont think ML beats Ironton by 30+ either. If anything I'd put the cap at 10 points in either direction.

Terrible excuse if you ask me and I'm not sure why he made it lol. I'm sure you feel the same way as I do.

I'm sure he's well aware of the schedule ML plays on their way to that point.

Fair enough. Calpreps has ML winning 35 to 26 which sounds about right to me.

This was PH's game of the year and all the credit is due them for how they played and stepped up when they needed to. Homecoming night and I think having to sit on that 62-0 drubbing for a whole year had them fired up and the first half was very tight 7-7.
Second half, LC forces a 3 and out then drives the field and scores. LC forces another 3 and out before having a touchdown called back then throws and interception the next play. LC forces another 3 and out before driving the field yet again. On the opening play of the 4th quarter, LC gained 5 yards and would have been looking at a 3rd and 2 from the 7. A PH player pushed a LC player in the back onto the pile and after some confusion with the refs, they give the penalty to LC making it 3rd and 16 from the 21. LC gained a few yards on 3rd down before a rare FG miss. PH then drove the field aided by 2 LC penalties before scoring on a 4th down heave into the endzone and ensuing 2 point conversion. LC then drove the field and scored to take the lead before sealing the game with an interception.
If you were at the game, you came away wondering how LC didn't win by 2 TD's+.
