Ohio's basketball cold war between Ohio State, Cincinnati thaws

Ohio's basketball cold war has thawed.

Announced last season, Ohio State and Cincinnati will play a home-and-home series in men's basketball with the first game set for Wednesday, Nov. 7, in UC's newly renovated Fifth Third Arena.

It's welcome news for old-time Buckeyes.

"It’s time. It’s time. There are a lot of hard feelings, but it’s over. It’s time," former Ohio State guard Denny Meadors said, a member of the team in the late 1960s.

From 1905 to 1921, the two universities met six times with five being played in Columbus and Ohio State winning four of the matchups.
