Obama on the "woke" culture

Who?

So now he's going to call out "young people?" Now that he doesn't need their votes? This is leading from the caboose. Where was he 12 years ago with this opinion? With ANY non-sectarian opinion? Has he built anything since he left office? A company? A movement? A non-profit?

He had his time as President to lead a country of ALL people that look like him. He didn't. He's had his time as non-President to show some sacrifice. He hasn't. He doesn't know how. He's no Jimmy Carter.

His time is to pick up a history book, read his paragraph, move quietly into retirement.

Wow, that is harsh, and accurate. One could add as well that he helped create the issue he now decries. However, I give him props for saying what he said. I do at the same time wonder what has prompted him to say it?

indeed

I'd say he wants to lead them - but probably just to a 2020 POTUS endorsement. This is the "demonstrate nobility" phase of a campaign to play king(queen?)-maker.

He's leaving retirement/sabatical now to exercise his rights as the Foremost Black Voice on the Planet.

He's quickly becoming irrelevant, none of his signature efforts has survived even a half-term of his successor. "His" party has gone so far left he would by contemplating dining on some mud with Beto at this point in time. Within a term of his leaving office he's almost as unwelcome in public as Bill Clinton at a #metoo conclave.

Obammy understood using a spirit of social change in small doses. Social change or perceived social injustice can be attention-getters to get people together, but when you push the envelope too far, the middle steps away from you.

Does it though? You're clearly a rational thinking Democrat. Most of your expressed views align well with Trump policy (minus climate change).
If the radicalization of the left combined with Trump's policies can't get your vote (or others like you) then the Socialist in your party will win and America will speed down that slope into Socialism.

I think many do, in the voting booth. Some are inexorably tied to the Dem Party, sure, but I refer more to the idependent, moderate part of our population than I do to the righty side of the Democrats. Local politics keeps many in the fold, but they won't drink the Koolaid on the POTUS level.

My self, for now, I am a Republican. I've not really ever been a Democrat since the early 80's when they really began to lose their minds. I am an issue person. I detest the neocon globalist bent of GHWBush's former underlings, but they aren't really Republicans in my mind. They just seized control of that Party for a while.

I've always been pro- Second Amendment. I am a social conservative. I abide by a more strict interpretation of the Constitution. I also see situations in which I believe times - often due to technology - have changed and federal government needs to step in.

Maybe I'm a 50's Democrat ? Otherwise, no. I'll happily wear that "rational thinking" part, though.

He realizes the walls are closing in .........he is going to be found out to have had full knowledge of COUP I, and endorsed it.

May as well admit his impurity now.
