Final Comments:
The Oakwood High School Girls Basketball Team is looking forward to an exciting season with five seniors returning this year who are looking to provide leadership and experience to their team.

Sara Casebere (5.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg), and Sadie Knostman (2.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg) are the seniors returning from a 6-8 COVID-interrupted season with Lily Hemm and Marissa Dressel moving up from the JV Team to add strength in the post on both the offensive and defensive end of the floor. Olivia Grant will be returning as a solid scoring threat from the three-point line after missing last season due to injury.

Emma Neff will be returning as a junior after a stellar season where she averaged 12.0 points and 3.3 assists per game, along with being the second-leading rebounder in the Southwestern Buckeye League with 11.2 rebounds per game. Mollie Connor is another junior returning with varsity experience where she contributed 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Cami Greear will be making the move from JV and adding her touch to an offense that requires excellent passing and ball-handling skills. Cami Dan, Maggie Murphy, and Genevieve Conrath also will be making the transition to varsity where they have shown the ability to rack up points with their three-point shooting as well as add a spark to the defense.

Ashley Bowden is the lone freshman on the team who has shown much promise as a versatile guard who can both handle the basketball and shoot.

The team will be built around solid defensive play using a multiple defensive system that can be adjusted to the opponent along with an offensive system that places emphasis on taking good shots and keeping turnovers down.
