Evergreen 149 boys 120 girls
Delta 155 boys 132 girls
Archbold 152 boys 156 girls
Bryan 242 boys 246 girls
Wauseon 235 boys 201 girls
Swanton 169 boys 146 girls
Patrick Henry 113 boys 95 girls
Liberty Center 137 boys 125 girls

And those numbers are 3 years old. Mine were the 2024-26 numbers, boys only since this is a football discussion.

Basically though, for quite a while Bryan and Wauseon is some order have been for and away biggest. Swanton has been 3rd, but the gap is shrinking. 4th-7th change every cycle, and then PH is the smallest.

It's official for week 2, Eastwood at Liberty Center. 2 year contract.
How's Eastwood going to be this upcoming season? Did they graduate a lot? I'd like to think that last week's physical basketball game between these two schools may have set the tone for a solid week 2 matchup.

League predictions are as follows...

1. LC
2. PH
LC vs. PH will be the game of the year once again with both squads returning a ton of talent. The separation between these 2 schools and the rest of the league is vast. Early prediction is that both LC and PH put a running clock on everyone but each other until playoffs.

3-5.
Evergreen, Delta, Archbold... In NO specific order as I believe these three teams will all compete for the #3 spot. I don't see any of these teams giving LC/PH a close game. Delta has a solid young core of players, Evergreen has a top QB in the league returning although they did graduate some key pieces on offense in Mossing and Robertson. I believe coach Bock is doing his best to change the culture up there and get more kids to come out. I know Archbold was young last season, what will they bring to the table this year? All three of these teams are extremely well coached and hungry. Archbold has the best resume as of late but Delta and Evergreen will be looking to remain in the top half of the league after last years success. Projected records are Evergreen 5-5, Archbold 6-4, Delta 6-4.

6. Bryan
Solid young core of players coming up as well as a QB who looked very poised as a freshmen this past year. I could see Bryan making some noise in the league over the next couple of seasons but not yet. I hear they have a stud RB who will be a freshmen. Is he as good as advertised? I believe they will beat Wauseon and Swanton this season and give teams 3-5 decent games, maybe even winning one of those matchups. I see Bryan losing at least 2 of 3 non-league games and going 2-8 or 3-7.

7. Wauseon
Not sure what's going on in Wauseon. They return a very solid QB in Albright who runs and passes well but graduate their best playmaker in Smith. Who will step up? With players like Tyson Rodriguez, Sam Smith, Austin Kovar, etc they have had mediocre records in recent seasons and that was before going back to the Wing-T offense. I see them beating Swanton and competing with Bryan. Wauseon loses all 3 non- league games going 1-9 or 2-8 on the year.

8. Swanton
I hope Swanton can turn things around and get a win this season but I don't see it happening. Swanton goes 0-10.

Bring back QB and a skill guy that was very solid. But lose a lot after that.

15 first, second, and honorable mention guys graduate.

Not for a very long time. Their community gives them 0 support, their best athletes leave for private or rival schools, they kick coaches to the curb when they’re already struggling to lure them, it’s a hot mess.
They have had 1 boy leave in the last few years

Yeah, their QB should be very good but they lose a few very good athletes. NBC should be competitive and entertaining, Maumee, Eastwood, Oak Harbor, Genoa and Otsego all have holes to fill but return enough to potentially win the league.

Rolly thanks for the breakdown. What's funny about this is LC returning the fewest number of all league players, but LC JV would probably have gone 6-2 in the NWOAL in 2023.

This league is

*Everybody else.

I've heard about Rumors of Sandusky Perkins and LC, not sure if its true or not but it's just what I've heard.
This is the second scrimmage one week before the regular season starts, not sure if it will be a true game situation showcase or if they will still mix in some series of 10 plays.

1.
Liberty Center reloads, they will have several first year varsity seniors who have waited their turn and will step right in to contribute.
2.
Patrick Henry will take a step back but I still think good enough to be #2 if they can stay healthy.
3-5 in any order
Archbold played several freshman and a lot of sophomores last year. I will be interested to see how they develop and handle week 8 and 10 games against PH and LC respectively.
Delta Skill positions will be young but with experience if they can develop a line I think they can be 5-5/6-4
Evergreen Overall, depth is a factor and they are an injury or two away from struggling but a good group returning.
6.
Wauseon Good skill positions but the line will continue to be a big liability for them. Interested to see if they stick with the wing-t or try something else to help get some of these athletes the ball.
7.
Bryan Talented freshman class incoming but likely another 1-9 season
8.
Swanton Not much to say.

Remember LC is playing Eastwood because Napoleon ran away. Napoleon was so embarrassed by getting beaten 8 times in a row that they ran away. Their administration didn't even have the guts to call LC and tell them they were running away. The change was discovered and reported to LC by a member of the media. Napoleon is pure cowards.

Who did Napoleon replace Liberty Center with?

News on the street is Evergreen's coach Bock took the Northview job. Very surprising as he seemed to have a great thing going on. Who will be the next coach for the Vikings?

This late into the offseason it would have to be a former head coach like Aaron Schmidt or a current staff member. Tough blow for them, 3 head coaches since 2022

Seemed like Evergreen was building up a bit of momentum by the end of last season. Bock leaving for a team that was 2-18 over the last 2 years doesn't exactly paint a bright picture for Evergreen's future..
