Northern Buckeye Conference Week One - Pick the spread

The straight "Pick 'em" threads are kind of boring to me. Most games are pretty obvious as far as who's going to win. I thought maybe we'd try something different? Post your point spread for each game and I'll average them together to set an "official" spread on Wednesday. Then we can pick against the spread at the end of the week. I figured I'd include future members Maumee and Oak Harbor. I formatted mine to set the line based on the home team, so a (-3) means the home team is giving three points, or favored by three, and a (+3) means they are getting points, or are an underdog. As long as you indicate who should be favored, and by how many, I will tabulate them on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

Eastwood @ Ottawa-Glandorf (-3) This means I have OG as a 3 point favorite
Genoa @ Archbold (-13)
Otsego @ Bucyrus Wynford (+3) This means I have Wynford as a 3 point home underdog

Fostoria @ Oak Harbor (-38) - Running clock in the 2nd half keeps OH from covering

Rossford @ Swanton (+24) - Late cover as Rossford works on some things they couldn't in their two scrimmages
Maumee @ Clay (-10) - Clay covers pretty easily
Otsego @ Wynford (+2) - Otsego maybe a little better than we think?
Woodmore @ North Central (-5) - North Central's first varsity game ever. No kick offs in JV games bites them in a close loss.
Lake @ BG (-13) - I think the Flyers cover but lose in a low-scoring game

Genoa- "closer than the experts thing" Archbold wins
tough one...but Fostoria is improved and loses by less than 38
a lot of points, but Elmwood covers by a few

Otsego defense still good enough to cover this
North Central is HUNGRY for 11 man football and covers easily
Lake may not win, but should keep it tight to cover

Otsego @ Wynford (+3)... Otsego is flying under the radar a bit
Van Buren @ Elmwood (-31)... Van Buren is bad. Elmwood is not.
Fostoria @ Oak Harbor (-37).... Hearing OH is much improved.
Woodmore @ North Central (-2)... Woodmore is not good.
Lake @ Bowling Green (-13)... Just a hunch. Lake lost all of their best players.
Rossford @ Swanton (+26)... Swanton has a long way to go.
Maumee @ Clay (-8)... Not as sure on this one, gonna take Clay's athletes.

Gibsonburg @ Woodmore (+17)- the Golden Bears are going to be in a bad mood after losing to the Green Bears!
Northwood @ Lake (+3)- Lake might be really bad....?
Van Buren @ Otsego (-28)- Otsego's offense might not score 28, as it seems they are struggling.... Knights still win easily

Pick your own spread for each game. I will average everyone’s predictions on Wednesday afternoon to come up with a collective spread that we can all pick against. I figured everyone has their own team that they follow and know the most about. I’m interested primarily in seeing how close we come to picking lines that come close to the actual outcome.

Maumee @ Bryan (-5) Maumee covers, but Bryan wins a close one in a battle of the ugliest color combination in sports (apologies to the Lakers)
BG @ Eastwood (-19.5) Feels like a 24-10 Eastwood win to me. A late cover for BG as Eastwood keeps it close to the vest with bigger games down the road.
Gibsonburg @ Woodmore (+25.5) Feels like they ought to have a limestone trophy to play for.
Northwood @ Lake (+3.5) Lake getting points in a rivalry game is too good to pass up.
Van Buren @ Otsego (-20.5) Upperclassmen at Otsego have had a lot of big game experience the past couple of years.
Oak Harbor @ Genoa (+4) Genoa getting four at home in a rivalry game with Vicars on staff feels like easy money.
Port Clinton @ Rossford (+11) Rossford has to show me a running game other than QB power, counter and iso before I pick them to beat a good team.
Edison @ Elmwood (-13.5) I think Elmwood wins, but gets tested a little by Edison.
Seneca East @ Fostoria (+15) Hopefully the field improvements help rejuvenate Fostoria football, but I don't think it's happening this year.
