11 months ago wife and I bought a new from a dealer CRV, paid for roadside protection, undercover, clear coat and interior protection, and an oil change plan. Received a call that the dealership gave use the wrong CRV the vin number does not match the purchase, that day they sold 3 of the same make, model, style, options and color . This was discovered because we took it in for an 2000 mile oil change and there was no record of the plan via this CRV vin number. The dealer is correcting the insurance problem, CRV Ohio registration, plates. However the CRV we received was not roadside protected, undercovered, clear coated, interior protected and the oil plan was not applied. The CRV has less than 2000 mile over 11 months the dealership is taking care of all this at no charge ( remeber this no charge). But we paid for this ( estimated cost was 800.00 at time of purchases.) They are offering a 75,000 service package or 7 years for our problem ( their mistake) however this service mechanical plan retail at $2800.00. The offer is that they will take the $800.00 that we paid for the undercoating package , apply it to the $2800.00 the dealership will sell this service plan at their cost and add additional funds. This will leave a balance of $613.00 we are asked to pay, if we want it or just take the $800.00.

What to do?

You could tell them that you demand exactly what you paid for, and you're going to ask a lawyer how long you should have to wait for your next brand new CRV as you contracted with them. Then ask him for the phone number for Honda's Zone Office.

Has it seen Ohio road salt yet ? You wanted it LineX'ed for a reason, right ? Are you gonna keep it until it's kaput ?

Do you like these guys ? Even if you do, you should not have another penny out of pocket. You should have every item you paid for originally. Anything that might be "extra" above your original contract should be gratis to you. THEY owe YOU. Period. You don't write rubber checks, right ? That is your side of the agreement. They have their side of it. Just smile and tell them what you expect. No "buts".

This. I had a friend who bought a brand new car, and when he got it, it had a few hundred miles on it, supposedly "the drive to get it to the dealership" from where it had been. He turned it down and said no, he wanted a new car like he ordered. And he got it.
