East has a new HC. Possible kids transferring out to UrsulineStruthers ooc is East-Chaney-west branch- NDCL not an easy road considering what they lose. Should be a more open stay this season likely having a sophomore taking over the realm at QB
Why?Crestview had a meeting with the NE8 last week
Lakeview to Crestview would be a bit of a haul. Then again Lakeview had the shortest trip to Jefferson so it could be their payback.Crestview had a meeting with the NE8 last week
Columbiana County is growing. But comparing Crestview to SR is a stretch. Over the years Crestview has been good but not consistently as good as SR.Might be a shrewd move by Crestview. Columbiana County is growing by leaps and bounds and Crestview is the beneficiary of the influx of families. They could grow substantially over the next few years. Meanwhile places like Girard and Niles are shrinking. SR is already the king of the NE8 and the Rebels could positioning themselves to be next in line.
Nobody suggested Crestview is too far. Just pointed out that the outer boundary schools would be close to an hour apart, Lakeview and Crestview. It’s not uncommon for the furthest schools within a conference to travel about an hour. If the NE8 was willing to approve Jefferson, certainly Crestview would be nothing in terms of location.Someone knows nothing. Crestview has not met with the NE8. I've talked to Crestview people who know. They are fine where they are.
I think it's funny though that people think it's so far away.
You guys relize it would be 10 minutes further than South Range
crestview and lakeview have scheduled a week two matchup for this year.Lakeview to Crestview would be a bit of a haul. Then again Lakeview had the shortest trip to Jefferson so it could be their payback.
A lot of younger families are moving that way. The high school numbers haven't hit yet.Where is the talk of Columbiana County growing coming from? I looked up the numbers and the last two decades its been shrinking. Then I looked up Fairfield and New Waterford. Both losing population. And if Crestview is depending on OE from Palestine, well theyre shrinking also
Will Whoopi be there!.lolSeems fitting, a battle of “the views.”
Good luck to him and the other 120 guys on that teamSee where Luke Starkey, DIV5 defensive player of the year, from South Range, will attend the University of Mount Union. 137 tackles, 37 for loss, 8 sacks last season for the Raiders.
Is it because kids leave Columbiana and go to crestview instead? I don’t think any EOAC team would want crestview to come in and take over the league in multiple sports but I agree it’s a better fit for them.I would think Crestview is MORE likely to entertain thoughts of joining the EOAC before the NE8. Travel-wise the NE8 would make more sense than the constant trips to Trumbull County (Liberty, LaBrae, Brookfield, etc) for MVAC games, but the EOAC makes even better sense if they want to cut down on travel and build local rivalries. With the Rebels' girls' programs being stronger than the boys, they would do just fine, but...football is king, so joining the NE8 is a stretch. The big stumbling block is that the administration of Columbiana and Crestview won't put aside their differences for the Rebels to move to the EOAC. I think they are kind of stuck where they are right now....
Paul Cusic was king at Crestview. It seems as if the football program has lost it's 'identity. Not sure if the Rebel faithful are fully certain that thing are going in the right direction, football wise. Would be surprized if they sought to join up with the NE8.Is it because kids leave Columbiana and go to crestview instead? The people pointing to SR being from out that way and having alotnof success in the Ne8. I don’t think crestview could make that jump the same way SR did.
Yeah, I think Crestview is kind of stuck in the middle. They are too strong for the EOAC and not strong enough in their programs to be in the NE8. The MVAC seems to be in the middle and better fits them competitively. Is it because kids leave Columbiana and go to crestview instead? They do stink at everything but it will be interesting to see if the football program makes big improvements under Prologo. I personally think they will. Not sure if they will get to NE8 type standards but they will get better fairly quickly. If you think Crestview can't compete, LIBERTY STINKS at everything
It all depends on who he can recruit to Liberty and if he can get people to stay. Good coach, but let's see what he can do on his own. They do stink at everything but it will be interesting to see if the football program makes big improvements under Prologo. Yeah went to school with Mook. He’s kind of a##Yeah, I think Crestview is kind of stuck in the middle. They are too strong for the EOAC and not strong enough in their programs to be in the NE8. The MVAC seems to be in the middle and better fits them competitively.
I think the animosity between Columbiana and Crestview dates back to the ITCL breakup, when Columbiana's Superintendent Mook was one of the league officers who voted to boot South Range and Crestview out. Crestview took that very personally, that they would turn on them after years of being together in the TCL and ITCL. Personally, I don't know if Mook had much to do with it, but I think that is the perception.
