NE8 2024

All this Struthers talk on a ne8 thread, it’s as if you guys are state champs. Your not and won’t be, you can’t even win the ne8 and now your whining that you pulled a wrong straw in the playoffs? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. What does a straw have to do with anything??🤣🤣🤣 Go range!!!!!!!! Champs again!!!😜😜😜😜😀🤣
 
I am biased maybe because of our game with Perry in the regional finals last year, but I think they win the region also.
 
I thought Perry lost their game-breaking speed and stud RB, but have all their lines back + QB + another good RB.

I’d guess they’re slightly less good, but that’d be enough to beat Struthers with some ease

Range won the ne8 because Struthers didn’t have there complete team all season

As much as I hate to say it as a pirate, I think I agree. My buddy thinks they win but idk if I see us holding up for 4 quarters to the line. Big boys up front that do their job well. Good luck to you guys next week

Just kinda hard to say yeah we got that game, when they're playing top 10 in the state teams and being competitive with it. Just hope we make it far enough to play them and see how we stack up against them.

They were also a regional finalist team last season that beat your team in the playoffs, but I guess we won’t talk about that lol. Poland isn’t anything like Struthers isn’t. Get real. Only team in league with real chances is south range.

You gotta stop. It doesn’t matter. They have a chance to do something special this week. If you remember last season, all of the same characters were saying that Lake Catholic was going to roll Struthers so anything can happen.


Well, actually, most of them left this website after they lost in the second round of the playoffs, lol.

R17 will play R18 (very likely LC) unless HP beats Ironton in R19. In that case they’d play HP.

My personal top 4 in D5 is HP, Ironton, LC, SR, and I think SR is a little behind. They’re not elite defensively, IMO

Agree, guys playing the defensive front are grinders, but they don't dominate like some of their predecessors. Linebackers are the strength of the unit I think. The secondary is decent but seems to lose frequently on 50/50 balls. If they get to Canton I believe it would be a rematch with Ironton.
 
It’s ironic when South Range first came into the NE8 most of the Tri-County area didn’t think the Raiders could compete in the league. After the last 5 seasons they have become the pride of the NE8. Through that time Struthers, Hubbard and Poland posters have talked about how each year was going to be their year.I still remember 2022 when Raiders were picked to go 7-3 or 8-2 with an early exit from the playoffs . 16 weeks from the start of the season they were a perfect 16-0 and Div 5 State Championships. Same thing at the start of this season. If people were honest with themselves no one expected the Raiders to run the table this year but here they are. Struthers and Poland are very good teams but even though I ll admit I was a doubter South Range is a step above the entire league. Are they as good as 2022 again IMO no but can they run the table? Won’t be easy but they know how to get program wins against teams that have more talent. The playoffs are here and the NE8 are well represented. Would love to see one of the 3 teams left in Div 5 to be the regional champions.Its one and done after all. Good luck to all teams.
 
In 2022, SR was really highly rated statewide and in the NE8. They had the bulk of their team back from a team that dominated the league and lost to Kirtland. Last year they were definitely a surprise team -- a little. This year, the posters here generally picked them -- though Struthers was close, I think. SR lost a lot up front, so that was a definite question mark.

But, as to you general point, it's amazing. In 2022 I posted something to the effect that SR would roll Warren Harding -- and that absolutely blew my mind.

Does the Poland/SR winner play ironton in semis?
West kib and liberty center are closer distance than any other combo.
You just seem to have all the knowledge on those type of things

My guess is SR-LC.

In 2022, Valley View won R20. They’re not that much further south than WLS.

My guess is SR-Ironton is just too far. I’d love it, though! I’m in Columbus and the game would almost have to reasonably close to me.

It seems like Glenville at times is susceptible to the pass. WB can throw the ball and the starting QB #3 does a good job extending plays with his scrambling ability. He got dinged up vs Hubbard but I'm sure it was a precaution to keep him out.

The dubstat site has Glenville as an 8 point underdog.
