This is a completely off base take. You say you’re a Butler Parent, but do you really know whats going on? What would you have done with the SAC storage facility? What use does ANY other sport get out of that? We putting hoops in there for extra shots for bball? You want treadmills in there for the track team? And lifting after school in the winter just isn’t plausible. They’re season just finished. They need a break! Winter sports get first priority, then spring sports, then fall sports. That’s how sports work in the school system. Even Dues waits his turn in the fall when he’s the last season to go! You don’t see Doring crying that he has to lift in the winter @8pm for soccer. The support take is clearly off & you should probably do some more research, buddy.

Again with the research, pal! The AD’s office is NOT at the board office LOL. It’s where it should be, IN THE HIGH SCHOOL! That AD guy has been a ROCK STAR since he’s been here getting upgrades done, bringing STATE tournaments to the SAC, getting turf project done at the baseball field, new turf on the football field. Would love to see you step foot in his shoes & see if you could do half the job that he has done. Let me know if you need some new sources, sounds like yours aren’t working outMaybe need an AD who is actually an AD. Butler AD is supposed to be the AD but is also in charge or transportation. He isnt even in the high school his office is at the board office. Assistant AD is a wrestling coach. Easy to figure out things then. If you dont know why it is important to work out as a team dont think I have the time to explain it.

The flexbone style offense? This isn’t the 1980’s bro! They have A LOT of athletes coming up. They need to a scheme to fit the players. VB football had a gap of bad athletes & no matter who coached, it wasn’t going to be good. Now, they have a lot of young guns who are going to step in the right way & get it done! The next few years of Butler Football should be promising. The talent is there!Vandalia football misery continues unfortunately. I don’t think there is a coach alive that could turn the tight of losing around there just don’t seem to be the talent there. If I were to coach there I’d really try to plant the seed that you need to run a flexbone style offense. Keep the clock running dried out long drives and keep the opposing offense off the field. Basically play the old school basketball style when Vandalia would beat teams 35-28 on the court. It wasn’t flashy but it was effective and they won a bunch!
Switching gears a bit. I just wanted to thank the students and staff from other MVL schools that attended the memorial services last week for the Tipp football player that recently passed away, Carson Robbins. We saw representation from several of the schools. That meant a lot to his family and friends. The players from rival schools stood in line for 2+ hours waiting to express their condolences. Our community really appreciated the support.

Absolute worse case for Butler football. Yes he came with Cates but couldn't keep OC job past first year. Constantly bad mouths program to players.Jason Sutherland would be my guess. Alumni and came with Cates from Covington. Would make since of terms of continuity.

I’m just tossing out ideas because it’s not been pretty to watch. Just thinking of ways that they can compete because they have not been able to block, pass, catch or tackle. Nah man, not a buddy. Just a father in the school district with 3 kids in sports. My sons & daughters are active at the HS & they respect the work the AD puts in for them. If they respect him, then I do too. But, naturally as a parent, I’m a Butler sports fan. Hyatt - Wasn’t this AD’s hire. It was the previous AD & obviously didn’t work out
Puckett - First year they hosted a home playoff game, and then he ran out of talent after that. Also tried to turn Butler into Centerville.
Cates - staring to turn the program around & then gets a better job. That’s the risk you take when hiring good people.
Basketball you seem to be way off base with.
Wyrick - one rebuild year followed by 3 winning seasons including B2B GWOC titles.
Betten - Good coach just didn’t have enough talent @ times. He also took over during the MVL switch
Holderman - Great coach who will turn the program!

Curious to hear your source on this? My kids tell me Coach Sutherland is a really good coach! Hearing he has COMPLETELY turned around the struggling track program in Year 1! Kids told me the past track coach was a little immature & didn’t know how to coach! A PE teacher at the school who doesn’t get along with a lot of people. Sounds like a personal problem. I’ve seen a lot of records being broken this year on my Twitter feed! If he can turn around a struggling track program in a single year, what’s to say he wouldn’t be a good interim Head Coach for football?Absolute worse case for Butler football. The current AD has done more to advance sports at Vandalia than any other I can think of. I don’t blame him at all for the lack of success in sports. I do think it will take the right coach for football and there will have to be continuity. Look at wrestling and baseball. Sustained success AND continuity with the staffs. That leads to buy in and work ethic with the kids. Look at Tipp. Those kids but what Burbaker is selling and it translates into wins. Those kids grind and want it. The current AD is also in charge of transportation and the after school program. Did that for the money. He isnt focused on just athletics like every other AD out there. They now have coach number 4 in ten years of football. Hire someone who will be good AND stick around. Hyatt was a catastrophe. Puckett is still cussing at the kids and driving them off. Cates was good but hated same things Puckett did with other sports getting preferences. Attendance has dropped off drastically in football and basketball. Good times at Butler!!!
