This link right now doesn’t give the name of the coach assaulted.Let's try this-
Assault reported against Mooney coach
ardinal Mooney High School football coach was assaulted in the coaches’ office in the locker room at the high school after a football game Friday night, according to a Youngstown police report. The Vindicator learned the name of the coach, but the names of victims are redacted in police reports...www.vindy.com
‘think Clark was merely pointing out that a hyperlinked “Pelini” in the body of the OP isn’t going to provide the level of information you’d expect to see (an issue of bbcode with URL’s is they kill thumbnails to articles from appearing)A bit of clarification....

Yea, I had no intention to step on anyone toes/post..........just wanted to point out that the First Link posted was actually the second article of the day, and the Second Link was actually the first article of the day.‘think Clark was merely pointing out that a hyperlinked “Pelini” in the body of the OP isn’t going to provide the level of information you’d expect to see (an issue of bbcode with URL’s is they kill thumbnails to articles from appearing)
Tuition ain't cheap, think the kid was on "scholarship?"he may not be worth a whole lot.....
15 wins in 4 years at Mooney, I'm betting there's some alum/boosters wishing they'd have had the chance themselves...If I were the coach, I would take this man for everything that he is worth. Based on his actions, he may not be worth a whole lot..... but I am going after him financially for as much as I can. Ridiculous!!!
I agree that there should be consequences for the and student involved. Mooney itself is also partly to blame here. Their standards have plummeted in recent years. Discipline in the school and especially on the football team is abysmal. Pelini himself had a domestic altercation and fled from police a couple of years ago and still retained his job. Massive changes need to be made over there and I'm not sure that they will.Regardless of whether a good coach or not, there is no excuse for the behavior of the parent and the student. The student, for being physically involved should be banned from playing H.S. football for the duration of his high school years at any school. The parent should be criminally charged and sued for damages. Actions like this need big repercussions so that it will send a message to any and all others that would think they might like to do the same.
Your transferring to Ursuline next fine your benched for a unknown freshman.Wild coach Pelini gets beat up by a parent. I gotta wonder what was said to enrage this father so much

Possibly something crazy like “your kid did a stupid thing and now he will have to face some consequences”.Wild coach Pelini gets beat up by a parent. I gotta wonder what was said to enrage this father so much
I'm no Mooney supporter, but 6 years ago, Mooney blew out 1-9 Ursuline, who had lost to East. These things come in cycles, especially at smaller schools.for the love of god, and for the safety of the children; DROP FOOTBALL MOONEY!
It's embarrassing. Maybe this is the year Ursuline puts the whole Mooney Clown Show out of its misery??
wins shouldn't invite an altercation between a coach and parent/player. I am assuming you said this sarcastically. At least, I hope you did15 wins in 4 years at Mooney, I'm betting there's some alum/boosters wishing they'd have had the chance themselves...
Can’t really blame him the way he got pushed outI think it’s worth noting that Mooney’s previous coach PJ Fecko’s son currently plays for Ursuline
The cycle argument is true if you're simply talking about football records. However the two schools are now headed in different directions that go far beyond athletics. Take one example: Ursuline is building a new arts and athletics facility while Mooney is struggling to keep enrollment. I think it is going to take a dramatic move by Mooney alumni and the diocese to stop the bleeding - academic and athletic-wise. I feel bad for Pellini as that must have been an upsetting experience. I feel even worse for my Mooney friends who have invested so much in the school and the program over the years. A player participating in an assault on the coach? I can't begin to imagine what would have went down if this was the Bucci or Fecko era.I'm no Mooney supporter, but 6 years ago, Mooney blew out 1-9 Ursuline, who had lost to East.
