I've been saying it for years, but schools need to broadcast their own games. These kids understand how to broadcast themselves better than we ever could with the tools they have and have grown up with. And there's more jobs in that field that these kids should explore. I know there's some OHSAA stuff where you're "not allowed to," but there's so many schools that do it anyway on their YouTube channels, it's crazy.
I don't think it's as easy as that honestly. Doing it and doing it well are two different things and a lot of these schools don't have crews who would do them from what I hear too.

Hudl is an interesting proposition for some of these, hopefully the feeds are better than NFHS ever was and works for folks plunking down the money.

It's fascinating how covid changed how HS sports is consumed imo, most people want just an awful video feed over turning on say a radio broadcast.

Definitely need a good person or group of people that can actually commentate the games. But hudl makes the streaming and video part significantly easier

I've always thought it made more sense for schools to utilize radio stations and maybe hook up their audio to the video feed if they don't have a broadcasting team of their own.
I think in the MAC, only Versailles has a radio station that covers most if not all of its games. They have paired their NFHS video feed to WTGR in the past, and I’ve enjoyed those broadcasts (as the Tiger bumper music rings in my head).

Anything the schools could put together would be 1,000x better than NFHS. Just hook the camera to the play by play announcer guy at the stadium.

I was part of the crew that broadcast games for my school via YouTube during Covid. The "crew" was 2-3 adults and a few HS students. We had one main camera in the press box and then the students had cell phones on the sidelines. It was pretty simple actually. We only did it during Covid though.

Fort Recovery Radio is paired with all of FR's games. Football, Basketball, and Volleyball.

As someone who's done stuff like that in their past, it KNOW it's really not all that hard.

BelowTheLine's prior example is a very common way schools produce broadcasted games.

Anyone know date, location, and start time for each of Versailles' two full-contact scrimmages?

The hardest part of streaming/broadcasting is finding a good duo that has good knowledge of the game and enough chemistry to make it flow
NFHS doesn't call the games. They just stream it. Which usually is good enough. Like I said earlier, just hook the audio up to the announcer that's calling the game from the press box after the play. "Run by #32 Paul Brown, tackle by #45 Joe Davis for a loss of 3 yards. That brings up 3rd and 6 from the 34 yard line."

Saturday 8/10 - 10:00 a.m. Quad scrimmage with Franklin, Clinton Massie, and Northwest at Franklin.
Thursday 8/15 - 6:00 p.m. scrimmage at Alter. Not sure what field they are using for this.

Van Wert does this and it works well.

Well not necessarily hooked into the camera but the PAs loud enough to be picked up by the NFHS camera I imagine.
It’s loud enough to hear all the PA’s calls. I would imagine it will change with the massive press box upgrade at VW. Now the visitors side has no speakers, so that is frustrating.

Don’t wanna make the mac page about wbl, but from one Celina fan to another, Celina might be getting some live broadcasting this year
