I have never had an add on youtube untill about 3 months ago I started getting bombarded by them. I turned on my adblocker and it did the trick... well, for awhile. Now it is just muting the adds and freezes them once they finish.

As protest to the adds which get really bad... 10 minute video and had 4 ad breaks in it... I cancelled youtubeTV and won't watch any youtube content that has an ad in it.

Any suggestions?

can't you just put hyphen after the "t?" yout-ube

I don't get anything but those 4second then skip ads but I think that hyphen does it. Try it I guess.

YouTube is weird. I used to get ads all the time similar to what you are seeing now. Then about 4-5 months ago they all went away. I did nothing. Really weird.

Did you try this or not? Seems to work for me, even on long videos. Type the hyphen after the t, hit return.

Is this comparable to the ads on Yappi? My screen will "jump" and sometime freezes.

Don't get me started about the ads on Yappi. The aggressive ads on this site is the reason I barely post on here anymore. I don't care if the adds sit still on the side but they move around and pop up all over and each time they pop up it moves my screen and bumps me off the post I am posting. When I go to click back into the box to continue to post if I am not careful the screen will move and I will accidentally click on an ad that takes me off site. Some ads are huge and takes up one third of the screen.

Funny, I just bought dog food at Chewy and now adds for Chewy are on here!!!!!

When you get to the video you want to watch, go up the the address bar and find the part that says youtube.com, add - between the t and u in youtube and hit enter. Thats what they are saying

I listen to my music playlists so I am not sure that would work or actually take more time than just clicking skip add. For longer videos I will try it!

I am hearing a ton of people are really pissed off at Youtube.

These ads a problem on browser or cell phone?

Browser, I'm using Firefox, strict mode, standard free ad blocker and don't have misbehaving ads nor problem with any of the sites I generally visit. All load well. Ads act as they are designed to. They have access to your browsing history and in some cases, your purchasing and that of those you communicate with. It's what drove Facebook. Cluster nodes.

Seeing an add for something you just purchase, something someone close to you just purchased, is normal.

Now, when you're just discussing in the real some product and then they start showing up on your browsing, you'll know the REAL depth of this invasion. Hello Siri.

For mobile: Use Opera mobile browser and turn on ad blocking. Watch YouTube from the mobile browser. Never have any ads, at least on my phone. Works for virtually all websites, not just YouTube.

I tried it and it works. Even works on my playlist. The only thing is that it won't allow me to shuffle the music videos on my playlist. Maybe there is a way .... don't know. Thanks for the suggestion is was great listening to hours of music without interruptions.
