It can't hurt.Saw tat levies had passed in Mogadore, Ravenna, and Springfield. These were three hard hit football programs over the last few years. Will the levy passage help these programs?
I would argue that in a lot of Ohio small towns, the only reason schools/levies pass or continue to exist is because of high school footballI think football is as good for passing levies as levies are for helping football programs.
It surely will unfortunately. Less funding as operational & maintanence costs skyrocket. And nobody knows what's going on with federal educational funding. The Ohio House’s budget removes the funding for the "Fair School Funding" plan, increasing per-pupil spending by $20 for next year....
The Ohio House’s budget caps district’s carryover as 30% of their yearly budget. Any carryover above that would be deducted from the next year’s tax revenue. District will likely have to go back for a levy every two years - or even every year.
Buckle up..it will get worse for public schools.
Schools are creating accounts, finding loopholes and making sure they don't have left over money in their general funds. We just approved this at our last board meeting. The Ohio House’s budget removes the funding for the "Fair School Funding" plan, increasing per-pupil spending by $20 for next year....

We need a new way to fund school operating expenses. A consumption tax and then allow property taxes to fund expansion to facilities (ie, stadiums, etc). These schools have to beg highly burdened tax payers and seniors on fixed incomes. It’s not fair to educators. Spend more time teaching kids and not teaching to tests and spending time to pass levies. JMHO
Then privates will just start to look like public schools eventually lolWe also have way way WAY too many schools. This isn't decades ago with 1 car families where everyone needed to be within walking distance of one. At least we actually did walk back then, lol.
The writing is on the wall with OH legislature however. Publics are out privates are in.
