I rarely have trouble watching any of his movies.
Too many great ones to pick from. Off top of my head, I'd probably go with Paths of Glory and Town Without Pity. One of my favorite roles though, I think was from a tv anthology. He played a WWI colonal or general as I recall, his kid was in the unit and he was concerned about his kid's cowardice. I think it was one of his actual sons played the role. I went to Australia, inspired by Man From Snowy River.
