They've openly stated they don't support a two state system and qualified their trip as a visit to Palestine, not Israel, and are meeting with leaders supporting a boycott of the state of Israel. But, you're right, sounds like a productive visit for the state of Israel and not obvious politicking.

And you're here whining that Trump is playing poltics?

Certainly is Israel’s prerogative to deny people entry into their country, but it’s not unprecedented for members of congress to visit other countries. It’s just odd to have a president call for them to get banned. Seems like politics.

Seems like politics they would be going where they're going and meeting who they're meeting with, clearly, just trying to get a reaction out of Israel. Yet, you only take issue when Trump makes it political.

They should have welcomed them and set them up in a nice tent with a big American flag, right next to the west bank.

The funny part is that they try to explain away their anti-semitic comments by claiming their comments aren’t anti-Semitic, but rather anti-Israel. Well ... ?‍♂️

To be fair, being "anti-Israel" isn't the same as being anti-semitic. I have plenty of Jewish friends who aren't big fans of the way Israel handles its business.

That said, their comments have clearly played on negative Jewish stereotypes and are in fact anti-semitic

It’s amazing to see people making anti-Semitic remarks about the Jews in Israel who then turn around and complain about the President discriminating against people...

Makes you wonder if some of the Democratic Party’s hatred for Trump is because Ivanka is Jewish. Hate to see this type of Neo Nazism in 2019.
 
They put Palestine rather than Israel on there itinerary letter. That seems like kind of a backhanded dig.

After whining about being denied Talib was granted entrance to visit her family...which she accepted saying she was simply visiting and would not protest Israel...and then turned around and said she wasnt going while ranting about oppression.

I don't blame Israel for doing this. I wish the US would show some balls and do more of this with people who are actually only coming in to start trouble. Omar & Tlaib were only meeting with people associated with BDS. They had no plans to meet with the Israeli government. How would any of you act if someone wanted to enter your home only to ransack it and try to brainwash your children to turn against you?

Trump screwed himself. What he should have done was not interfere. Then it would have been strictly Netanyahu’s decision about letting them in. Now Trump is receiving criticism from mainline Jewish groups, even aipac. Trump has helped make them martyrs. If they had gone, it may have caused some problems for Netanyahu but I am sure Tlaib and Omar would have said and done many things that either were or could easily be portrayed as anti-Semitic and would have provided the Donster with valuable political fodder

You dont cede your first Amendment rights because you are president. He has a right to his opinion. It was strictly Netanyahu's call. See the fact they reversed themselves regarding Talib.

hardly an exercise in First Amendment rights. Donald Trump is the leader of Israel's No. 1 ally and protector. We supply them with over 3 billion dollars a year in military aid, more than we provide any other nations but Iraq and Afghanistan. We have repeated protected them from censure in the United Nations. And work to protect them from economic boycotts. Israel is reliant on the United States.

Who has suggested he doesn't have the legal right to offer his opinion? The post you replied to simply said he shouldn't have offered his opinion. I may not agree, but it's a reasonable take that has nothing to do with the 1st amendment.
