Pretty excited about IU's upcoming season. Ka'ele Ware get drafted in the first round and has a great summer with the Heat, and honestly we may not miss him at all?? We may finally get to put Trey Galloway in a position where he can just focus on some of the things he does better, maybe make him a finisher, a better shooter. Looking for Mgbako to make big strides this season as he'll be headed to the NBA after this. Ballo, Rice, Goode, Tucker should be major upgrades to the program. Big year of Gabe Cupps, he needs to really become an offensive threat or his PT will be minimal.

Nothing to do with this year's IU team, but wild story out of Bloomington, former Hoosiers Charlie Miller and Haris Mujezinovic are suing IU for sexual abuse, Dr. Brad Bomba at the center of it. Crazy times.

The Army is shaking in fear. If you're my age, it was as normal a part of the exam as hitting the knee with a rubber mallot. Whether present day medicines describes those as necessary is irrelevant.

The complaint couldn't be more vague here.

I forgot u were an IU fan.......
Your not as much of an IU sack licker like u are for.the Reds are you?

Cautiously optimistic but until I see the proof I am hesitant to buy in.

I would say I tend to be an "optimistic" sports fan. Not sure how being a fan who's constantly questioning and running down your favorite team gives you any joy and satisfaction. And we all know that teams don't finish in first place and win the championship every year.

IU hoops has a large and passionate fan base, so obviously NIL fits right into the narrative.

Some red flags in this game today for Indiana vs South Carolina. Didn’t think they would have such a harder time on the boards against a smaller team.

Indiana looks a little slow at the guard position. A team from the inbred SEC shouldn’t not have more quickness, explosiveness, and speed at guard but it appears that South Carolina does.

Didn't get a chance to see the game. I have no idea who SC had coming back from last year's good team. But good to see IU beat another good program. The preseason cupcakes really do nothing for these teams. Good to see Rice and Carlyle contribute. Rice is a HUGE upgrade for the PG position for IU. Unfortunately Gabe Cupps isn't going to play much this year. He really looked in over his head last year.

Having to play Trey Galloway is such an athletic mismatch for Indiana anytime he’s out on the floor

He's such a weird player, he's very athletic, but not necessarily basketball athletic if you know what I mean. There was games last year when Galloway was one of the best players on the floor, and other games he was invisible. They HAVE to get Luke Goode to start making some shots. He's a hired gun, except he doesn't make shots right now.

Never understood the infatuation with Cupps. If he wasn't from Ohio no one here woulda gave him the time of day last yr. He is just bes served transferring to a MACs school and opens roster spot.for someone who will help us get back to glory

Rumor mill indicating a bunch of IU players were out at the casino into the early morning hours the night before getting thrashed by Louisville in a noon tipoff.

Well we've got major issues with IU hoops. After an embarrassing thrashing from Louisville on Wednesday, the Hoosiers were spanked by powerhouse Gonzaga yesterday. Now in a position where they are trying to save face with Providence here in a few minutes. Several alarming things have cropped up over the last two games. First of all, with NIL and the transfer portal, IU had really stocked up on some talent - allegedly - and this was really looking like the year they would get back on the national scene. A sloppy first half Wednesday followed by an avalanche by the Cardinals really had the Hoosiers reeling. Louisville had 10 new players on their roster and a new coaching staff. IU played Tennessee in an exhibition game before the season and won a close contest while Louisville got pounded by Tennessee a few weeks ago.
So with that over, the Hoosiers got Gonzaga yesterday, being upset Wednesday by West Virgina. IU was in the game early, down two with about 7 minutes to go. By the time IU scored again they were down by 15 points and the game never got closer. This is becoming typical for IU under Mike Woodson. His Hoosier background a fantastic playing career will not save him moving forward. Since the Archie Miller era started, this program has been disappointing more than anything else, with just a few glimpses of hope.
These showcase games non conference tend to be blowouts with IU taking the short end. It's going to have to turn around over the next month or so or we may see a major shakeup in Bloomington.

Chris Beard is about the only reasonable from the Knight tree. If they were really serious, they'd pay the big bucks for Shaka Smart and wife.

Like alot of these places, many of the fan base feel you have to have someone with ties to the program. Maybe having Cignetti and his success will change that on the basketball side. Tom Crean was alot better than many of the IU faithful would ever admit. Archie Miller was just a dumpster fire. IU definitely has the deep pockets to go get recruits, but buying basketball talent doesn't always equate to wins.

Crean took the program as far as he could and I appreciate the job he did because when he took over with the program unders sanctions and had few shcolly players was a dark time for the program.

I think we have to come to the realization we are not a premiere job any longer.

I think it still is a premier job, there are just so many more now. I mean 40 years ago, there were maybe 10-15 blue blood programs. UCLA, Marquette, Notre Dame, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Duke and a few others. Most SEC schools, basketball was an afterthought. The Big East born Syracuse, St. John's, Villanova, Georgetown, in the 2000's Gonzaga came to being. And just in the last decade, Auburn, Baylor, even Butler went to back to back Final Fours.
As far as Crean, many of the IU faithful got greedy, they wanted Knight like success where you were competing every few years for a national title. Crean won two big ten titles in 5 years and sent many guys to the NBA. Boy don't we wish we had that now?

surgery for a lower leg injury. I tell ya, HIPPA wasn't invented for athletes. It's ok to tell us what it is. Cupps even put it on his social media.

You really wonder if the kid will even stay at IU. He barely plays now. I'd think a MAC school would be a nice option for him.

I think a school to keep an eye on is Dayton. From the area and they recruited him a little bit out of high school. I doubt he stays at IU. My guess is MAC, Dayton, or a school like western Kentucky

I'm guessing he doesn't play much due to the nagging injury. Last year he played a lot for a freshman. If he were 100% I would have expected him to pick up where he left off at the end of last season.

I'm guessing he didn't play much because they brought in a couple of transfer guards who are better. Cupps was non existent on offense last year, he simply would not shoot the ball. And this from a kid who was highly successful in high school. He did ok handling the ball but you could just tell he was in way over his head. He's not a big ten point guard.

Never understood the fascination with the kid. Was all excited until I saw him play on HS and was like WTF...this ain't gonna work on college. Biggest snow job of all time. Push him out the door and use his scholly for someone who can help the program move forward. He needs to be playing in intermeural ball...not a once blueblood D1 program.

Braden Smith, similar talent (but WAY more obsessive), similar build coming out of high school did the smarter thing. He bulked up, put a lot of effort into his physical development. That kid is a leaper and can take the bumps.

When you were watching him as a high school player, would it have been too much to ask for you to appreciate him for what he was, which was a really good high school player? We get it. You weren't impressed. How many times do you need to communicate this point?

I don’t think you need to do too much hand wringing over Cupps; he’s going to leave on his own for playing time. Smart folks can figure out when the writing is on the wall, and the writing is pretty obvious when multiple transfers (that have remaining eligibility beyond this year) are brought in.

The only way he stays at IU IMO is if Woody gets fired and his replacement wants him. Otherwise I think you can bank it he’s shutting it down now and having surgery to maintain an additional year of eligibility via the redshirt for wherever he ends up at after the season is over.
