The 2006 Hoover football team will be competing in the Danville Power Lifting Meet on Saturday, February 18.

Good luck and bring home some gold!

Have been told that Hoover should have the biggest school there (Population wise). Hopefully we can take home a victory.

The lightweights and middleweights will have to come out strong considering there arnt to many people in heavyweight. Hoover should be good enough to come out stong and be ranked high. Goodluck on saturday guys

I've heard Hoover took 1st Place. Great start as a team builder for the 2006 season. In addition, it tells me many of the athletes are working hard in the weight room to better compete in 2006. Congrats!

I heard that Hoover didn' place. But I heard they had the largest team.

Hoover did take first place. However, from what I've heard, the team's results were not turned into the officials before the results were posted. That's why they didn't place. I've heard the standings are going to be revised to acknowledge Hoover as being the winner of the event. I too heard we had the largest team. But, keep that in perspective. Many of the competing teams were varsity weightlifting teams. I do not believe Hoover has an official varsity sport for weightlifting. Many of the teams that competed , did.

I was talking to some of the guys who went and they said that we were the only football team there. Thats great that we took first. Way to go guys.

Hate to burst your guys bubbles lol but I heard the reason that we took first place was not because we won most of the events it was because we had so many people and they accumulated more points that way. Wins a win though; take it how you can.

I was at the meet last year because my son was there and took third place. I think they added up the scores of the top 6 placers in each weight division to determine who wins the team. So if anyone who was there has any insight on the exact story - let us know!
Regardless, Good Job Vikings - keep it up.

I went and it's the top 4 I do believe in the weight class.
