Hey locals - we're hungry!!

If your school is hosting a playoff game, where should visitors consider getting a bite to eat ?
Court Street Athens. Like 26 bars.

Who has the best burger in that bar crawl ?

If I wanted a home-style pig-out on the way out to Athens, and I was too hungry to wait until I hit town, I might stop at Charlie Bush's....and order quickly so that I had time for a slice of one of those pies and a cup of coffee before going to the game. Who is playing in Athens ?

Region 27 game there. The bad part is Athens HS is in The Plains, which is 5 miles from Athens and basically only has a McDonalds.

But if you do head into Athens, Go to Broney’s (at the north end of Court Street, opened after that poster was printed) or The Pigskin for food.

I wouldn’t even attempt it after the game, as by then it’ll be filling with Students for the night. You’ll be fine before.

For the Mooney/Steubenville game, If you park in the municipal lots west of the stadium on Pershing Street in Salem, you have Mike’s Penn Grill a block down the road at the corner of Penn and State Streets, which is very popular. There’s also Boneshakers right on Pershing. It’s newer and I haven’t had it yet.

If you are going to the Colerain/Mason game at Princeton I would recommend BJ's Brewhouse at Tri County Mall. Good food and great beer selection.

Defiance or Perrysburg try Jersey's Gameday Grille.....original was in Defiance, second location opened in Perrysburg this summer....can't beat the food (try the pizza).

Before this year when I would try and go to Friday & Saturday games, I usually didn't have time between working Friday and the game to stop and eat. Now on Saturday I would scope out town/city I was going to and find a great place to eat. Another casualty to having all games on Friday

For the game in vandalia, you should go to Bunkers pre game and then hit up Jim’s donuts after the game. 24 hour hot donuts.

Yeah I actually live between the Plains and Athens. The Plains has just Subway, McDonald's, Go Go Burrito, Little Italy Pizza, and Kiser's BBQ. Kiser's BBQ has really good food and 32 micro breweries on tap.

Athens is the hardest town to find parking in. Has everything but italian for some reason. Athen best place is Casa plus for Ronnie we have three really nice head shops for his medical marijuana

We are hosting Hoban/Brush.

Farinaccis in Northfield Twp on Olde 8 north of 82 has great pizza, but they don't deliver.

Just north is Dragon Garden with the best Chinese around, with some nice Thai and Vietnamese selections as well as a hibachi. The Basement in Sagamore on 82 is a better sports bar, and Dos Coronas across the street has a good Mexican menu.

Northfield Village of course has the Hard Rock casino and Kosar's Grill, but also a really nice yet affordable Italian place called Spennato's. The Northfield Inn has great bar food and pizza, as does Romito's. Scoreboards and Wing Warehouse are typical sports bars and both pretty good. All of these are on 8 north of Macedonia, where Nordonia HS is. Now that the casino money is around, it isn't the speed trap it used to be.

Around the convergence of 271, 82 and 8 at the Macedonia and Northfield Twp border and closest to the field, one can find just about any chain restaurant from Outback and Fuji steak houses through Applebee's and Chilis, Chipotle and Chik-fila, Panera or it's polar opposite Golden Corral, and most fast food joints. At the south route out of the high school, Highland Rd and 8, there is a Bob Evans, for those completely devoid of an appreciation for the unique. If you go a few hundred feet west, though, there is a great little Mexican place called Tacos Mexicanos.

I forgot Kiser’s set up shop in Eclipse

Cabo-"Really nice yet affordable Italian place called Spennato's." Double Ditto

The Northfield Inn has great bar food and pizza, has gone down a little from 10-20 years ago?

Scoreboards better now under new owner/manager, Blaise ( Chanel grad 74-6?)

As for the Northfield Inn, an Italian friend from a few towns south recently discovered it, has gone back a few times, and can't believe I don't go there often. Maybe you caught them on a bad night ?

For those folks coming to Fremont for the Norwalk St. Paul-Tiffin Calvert game, there are quite a few local options....

Chuds Grille....1103 Napoleon St.
The Garrison....209 Garrison St.
The 818....818 Croghan St.
Tackle Box .....420 Sandusky Ave.
Van Ness's Time Out.....2024 Lake St.

If you are coming to Marion for Shelby vs. St. Mary's Memorial at Marion Harding Stadium as you turn off 23 onto 95, Steve's Dakota grill is there, Bob Evans on the other side of the road, nearby KFC, on down 95 toward the field is Red Lobster, Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings. Not knowing, but if St. Mary's folks come down 309 they get hung up in one-way streets and are more or less SOL for a place to eat before they get to the stadium area.

Almost forgot. If you sit at the south end of the stadium, on the home side of the field, there is no way you can ignore the smell of the brats grilling down to your right. The smoke, the aroma, makes the whole game worthwhile.

The Clay Oven-16 South Cleveland Avenue Mogadore, Ohio 44260 (330)628-1000. Woodfired eatery right in the heart of the village.

Woodfired pizza/Stromboli
Steak
Chicken
Polenta
Crab stuffed salmon
Bacon Brussels Sprouts
Crème Brule Desserts

Just to name a few items they have on the menu.
*everything is made in house and all local vendors and growers are used.
Full bar upstairs along with an outdoor patio overlooking historical Mogadore town square.

Get there when your in Mogadore!

If your going to the game at Monroe, try the Clubhouse Grill, a quick turn off Route 63 and only a couple of miles from the stadium. Something for everyone on the menu and the beer is cold. A little pricey, but worth it.

Marion Pleasant and Archbold at Findlay, Oler's Pub is the closest local spot to the stadium and features really good Mexican food, but fills up between 5:30 and 6:00 so plan accordingly. Wilson's Hamburgers is iconic on Main Street. Logan's Irish Pub and Legend's are great local places to sit and have a nice dinner, but be warned the city is 'beautifying' Main Street and parking and travel are an issue.
