GMC 2025

why would i comment on something i don't care about. no its not relevant either, know it all. this is the football board, hence a football thread about the GMC. how you or others feel about how it's getting paid for and how much it costs isn't about football.

People regularly comment on facilities on football board. Last time I checked, this was for the football stadium primarily. And how it gets paid for will definitely impact Princeton and GMC football at somepoint. Like will Princeton continue to be able to justify paying it's coach an exorbitant salary for a made up position? Will Princeton be able to continue to acquire football talent from outside their district when teachers and academic programs get cut? It would be really difficult to justify accepting Open Enrollment students with all of their budgetary issues. That would impact Princeton in a HUGE way. And if that goes away, they may be D2 again.

So regardless of what you think, this money fiasco with these un-necessary renovations will definitely have an impact of Princeton football, and thus impact the GMC.

So, I'd say everyone talking about it is right on target with the purpose of the thread. If you don't like the commentary, don't read it.

It's not that the renovations are unnecessary. I get that they are needed. It's the overall cost and extravagance. They could have easily done something for only a few million rather than $22 million.

Again? Pardon my lack of divisional history, but I thought Princeton was always solidly D1. When was the last year that they were D2?

Found it on ohhsfbdb. 2013-2016.

then start its own thread. so people that don't care how they spend there money don't have to listen to the "know it all" tie up a thread thats supposed to be about the gmc and football. its as tiring as el dorado saying oak hills sucks at every chance he gets.

I never used the word "sucks", that's you projecting (which is quite telling). All I did was simply state a fact, that they have not beaten a D1 team with a winning record in 2 decades, and asked the poster who the 5 teams he thought would finish behind Oak Hills.

What's actually tiring is people bringing up the same tired off-season talking points like "Oak Hills will finally be good this year", talking down to people like me who try to talk sense with facts, and then not hearing any recognition of how wrong they were pre-season when the inevitable happens. I don't raise these topics, I comment on ones that don't make sense to me, and explain in detail why.

Same stupid conversations every year in pre-season, people call me names, then end up looking dumb by the end of the season. I'm sure this year will be no different.

I've come to the conclusion that if OH couldn't figure it out with what has been probably their best flow of players in 40 years, then it's never going to happen. Unfortunately.

Oak Hills was loaded with talent in 03, lost 3 games by a combined 7 points, all due to moronic coaching decisions. That team in all fairness could've and probably should have been 9-1.

Coaching has been a huge issue at Oak Hills, even when they have talent. They can't seem to get out of their own way. We'll see this year, but I'm not too optimistic.

who are these players?

i suppose you didn't follow OH in the late 80s, early 90's?
They've had more talent the past 3-4 years that what is typical.

They had some really good players, just no depth. They gave Elder all they could handle a couple years ago, and they were missing guys. Maybe last 20 years is a better description.

Congratulations to Princeton on passing the levy. I didn't think it had a chance, but the community spoke and it passed. So, there will not be any impact on football or other sports.
I am absolutely freaking floored that it passed. I imagine there had to be a ton of misinformation education in the campaign. The community spoke indeed.

I am not floored it passed. NOT...ONE...BIT. There was a ton of misinformation in the original levy campaign.

There was no optics with that facility project.
The optics being the misinformed notion that residents are voting on a levy yet the school is undergoing a massive sports facility project. You have to believe there were voters who at some point related the two.

They were related as the General Fund was paying for the sports facility upgrades.

But the levy passed, so all of it is water under the bridge. Now Princeton can focus on what really matters.... the transfer portal :stirthepot:
