Talawanda with the win over Carroll 35-12Week 5
McNick takes on another former Coed foe, Purcell. They have a common opponent - KIPP, who PM just beat 18-16. McNick had running clock on KIPP at half 2 weeks ago.
Badin takes on Hughes which will be a route. Could be a good opportunity for Badin to find some offense.
Carroll will likely be 5-0 as they take on an always reeling Talawanda squad. When was the last time Carroll was 5-0?
It’ll be a tough week for Fenwick who has Mt. Healthy.
CJ takes on Edgewood who Badin beat earlier in the year 17-7.
Alter takes on Bellbrook which should be a good game. Bellbrook is in the same D3 region as CJ and McNick.
Should be an another good week for the coed before league play begins.
Talawanda is bad so they just exposed what a fraud Carroll was starting off 4-0. They had to beat a 1-4 Northwest in 3OT, beat up on city league team from Columbus, and there two other wins are against 0-5s.Talawanda with the win over Carroll 35-12
The Rams are beginning to get back on track, watch out boys. Fenwick, Carroll then the 3 game gauntlet for the crown !!!
Sounds like losing the qb has really hurt their offensive production but they are still a team that returned an number of talented players from a state championship game run, so I still think they're a tough out come GCL playSubtract Alter from that gauntlet.... they are closer to Fenwick and Carroll this year.
Too much has been made of the qb situation. Alter played " up" out of conference. Larger truth is that this year's team has some gamers, but no gamebreakers. Ok for the region DIV, but this squad doesn't pass the Alter eyeball test.. Going back on Domsitz pt 2 can casually recall a number of QBs w better system skill fits. So the lack of backup position depth is only 1 factor. Some years are better than others regardless of tradition, legacy, rep. Post a 3 and 2 in GCCL and go into playoff maybe win a couple.Sounds like losing the qb has really hurt their offensive production but they are still a team that returned an number of talented players from a state championship game run, so I still think they're a tough out come GCL play
McNick seems to be the team to beat but those late GCL games tend to have a few head scratchers thrown in there.
It seems like the past couple of years here and there, Alter has struggled during the first 5 weeks and seem to always find a way to make things work come GCL play. I'm assuming with this teams expirience and defense this year will be no different. I'm not going to jump to conclusion and count them out. Still a lot of football left to be played.Sounds like losing the qb has really hurt their offensive production but they are still a team that returned an number of talented players from a state championship game run, so I still think they're a tough out come GCL play

Looking good! Have they said how much the capacity would be?In other news, the first images of Badins new stadium were posted on X today. View attachment 65567
Now we got to get one of those for Alter. Are there any plans in the works Alter fans?In other news, the first images of Badins new stadium were posted on X today. View attachment 65567
3500 on home side and 1500 on visiting side is what I have read. Badin isn't skimppin on this.Looking good! Have they said how much the capacity would be?
What happened? Maybe I missed it. Prayers for the young man.Does anyone know how Fenwicks Freshman QB is doing? Is he still in the hospital? Who takes over for him for the rest of the season?
There's a plan in place. But hasn't been able to get off the ground due to neighbors complaints. Now we got to get one of those for Alter. Are there any plans in the works Alter fans?
Yep that’s what I’ve heard since I started paying attention in 2010. Probably similar to what McNick went through for years. It’s been a few years since I’ve been on the Alter campus but I don’t recall much room to build unless they jam something into the current practice field. There's a plan in place. Correct they are very much landlocked. With the grade school next door. There is no room.Yep that’s what I’ve heard since I started paying attention in 2010. Parking would be problematic also.Correct they are very much landlocked. With the grade school next door. There is no room.
Phase 1 which was supposed to start this summer but has since been prolonged. Was to transform the front yard of the school into a parking lot.Parking would be problematic also.

3 of McNicks opponents Wheelersburg, Purcell and Roger Bacon will win more then they lose when it’s all said and done. I agree we will find out more v. CJ. Weather will limit offense and probably cause a few turnovers,Excited for conference play to start this week!
Alter @ Carroll the frauds got exposed last week big time as they lost to a bad Talawanda team. Assuming Alter will start the freshmen QB this week. Hopefully he’s the spark this offense needs.
Badin @ Fenwick After the rams slow start they have seemed to get things humming. Expect some unhappy falcon posters as I foresee a beat down incoming.
McNick @ CJ Really intriguing game here. McNick who everyone seems to be high on. Yet besides their opener have played a very soft schedule. Travels to Dayton to take on CJ. Should be the best game of the week.
All I’m saying is besides their opener they have taken advantage of playing poor teams. Like you said we will find out more in the coming weeks. Also agree weather will play a factor in that game. And you could possibly give CJ the edge since they are such a run heavy team.3 of McNicks opponents Wheelersburg, Purcell and Roger Bacon will win more then they lose when it’s all said and done. They couldn’t find anyone for Week 3. Tried to schedule Wyoming but they didn’t want to chance a loss apparently. Bacon and Purcell are the only similar sized Catholic schools in Cincy, playing them makes sense. McNick lost to Wheelersburg in 2022 and 2023 so not a pushover. I agree CJ will be comfortable with running the ball. Unfortunately that didn’t help them last year asThey scored 0 All I’m saying is besides their opener they have taken advantage of playing poor teams.
