Hi Everyone,
My name is Wayne Black, I coach girls wrestling at Mason High School, and I wanted to share information about the girls’ wrestling club launching there this season. This club is open to girls 7 -12 who want to get experience with freestyle or just want extra mat time. This will be the first girls-only club that’s been run out of Mason, so my goal is to get as many girls in as we can to continue to grow and build out our girl’s programs.
The club will start on April 2 and will run through May 27 with 2 practices and 1 one open mat. The practices and open mat will be girls only.
Practices are Tuesday 6-7:30pm, Thursdays 5:30pm-7:00pm and Sundays 1:00pm-2:00pm.
I will be running practices primarily showing technique, but my assistant coach Tony Johnson will also be helping to run practices along with some college guest coaches coming in. For background on myself - I was an All American at Mount St. Joseph with over 100 college wins and have coached k-12 boys and girls state qualifiers/placers ranging in Indiana, Ohio and Kansas. Tony was a 3x state placer and state champion wrestler at Lakota East, as well as having a successful freestyle and professional MMA career.
We really want to see girls' wrestling continue to grow and develop in SW Ohio, so please share this information with your communities or forward this information to anyone who might be interested.
