Many reports last night were that family members called police to report he was acting strange and they were worried about his mental status. It wasn't known if an officer shot Honeycutt or whether he died of a self inflicted wound.

The article states the "shootout lasted several hours", which isn't true at all. There were shots fired upon contact and then no more shots were ever fired. LAPD SWAT and their negotiators attempted contact and when none could be made they sent in a robot before entering.
