Elder vs. Lakota West

The GMC roster is the only thing I could find. Someone posted a youtube video of one of their games. That's all I have to go off of. Davis and Griffith look big and strong. They are the anchor of the defense in stopping the run along with Flores. Elder's offensive line is pretty strong this year. It will be a good matchup to watch, Elder oline/fb/te vs. LW dline/LBs.

I have confidence Ramsey has a great offensive game plan and the players are going to execute it well. I still like Elder in a close one. I have confidence Elder's defensive front 7 will have a game also.
Good call.

Can't turn the ball over inside the 5 going in. Even after the poor 3rd Qtr, they had a chance to get back in the game there to start the 4th. Brass would have been short but, 2nd and Goal from the 2, you'd think they would have found a way to score a TD there.

Even if you don’t, a FG makes it a 1 possession game. The odds were going to be long either way, but you still had a chance.

I will say, it didn’t feel like Elder got “out athleted” so much as they just weren’t as physical as West. I think a lot of that is due to having several key players being at well under 100%. There’s too many talented players in the front 7 to get dominated like that.

For one team, it felt like they had to be perfect on offense and even then it was a grind, like pulling teeth. For the other, it just wasn't nearly as difficult.

It was like that in the 3rd Qtr for Elder, but they moved the ball well the other 3 quarters. That’s why I wish they had gone to more of those short routes in space, just to get the Offense going. Everything opened up once they started getting 1st Downs.

As others have said LW had better football players and a better team.

I could nit-pick a few areas (the 10+ yard cushion Elder DB's provided and allowing LW to run over the weak side again and again without adjusting) but in the end LW deserves to move on and Elder deserves to be done.

Thank you, players and coaches, for your dedication and sacrifice. Seniors, for the past four years you have poured your heart and bodies into Elder Football and we all appreciate it. Altiora!

Not seeing anywhere in this thread before the game that you said Elder would not be able to stop the run.
I’ve said it several threads. Something was wrong since X. It was clear as day when they struggled to get bad Offenses like LS and OH off the field. But you kept saying it would be fine bc they had most of their starters back, and I kept telling you, they weren’t near 100%.

And guess how many times West was in Cover 0? Ironically, also 0.

West might be the slightly better team, but Elder let this one get away unfortunately. It's going to be a Moeller vs. West or Princeton R4 final. Mason has 0 chance of beating Moeller with Marshall playing.

West's offense is not good. You didn't post it, because you didn't think Elder would have trouble stopping the run. You actually thought West would break long runs which they never did.
Elder’s D is way worse. Like I said, there should’ve been massive red flags going up after LS and Oak Hills

Who expected success?

I didn't think this team would go into LW and win.
Then that tells you, Elder needs to get better instead of just being satisfied with X being equally mediocre. In 2 yrs, X will be contending for a Title, Elder isn’t close.

Also, West needs to cut out that ridiculous light flickering after TDs. What if someone in the crowd has epilepsy? You’re going to give them a seizure. And I don’t believe in making accommodations for every single person, but nobody goes to a football game expecting the lights to repeatedly turn on & off.

It wasn't just the front 7 though. Those extra yards hurt. 3rd and 2 or 3rd and 5 for example. It happened all game it seemed like.
It wasn’t, but a lot of it was. You were wrong, you decided to be a homer instead of acknowledging the obvious.

Agree with that. X is walking through the GCL the next 2 years. Elder loses a good senior class. Moeller will not be the same without Marshall.

LW fans are pretty obnoxious. They threw a fit when they accidentally flickered when Elder scored their 2nd TD.

I thought they would get the best of the LW offensive line. That wasn't being a homer. That was seeing that LW offensive line is about average.

It’s a moronic thing to do, nobody likes that. It was fine as an intro, but you can’t keep doing that after every TD.
