The Elder Bowling team finished first in today's District Tournament at Beaver-Vu Lanes in Dayton. The Panthers won the school's first ever District Tournament championship with a score of 4518 and advance to the OHSAA State Tournament on Saturday, March 9 in Columbus. This will be the first time since the 2007-2008 season that Elder has qualified for the bowling state tournament.

Props to the Elder bowling team on a great season! Yesterday they finished fourth at the state tournament here in C-bus, the best finish ever by the Panthers. After qualifying seventh to advance to the Baker Round, they beat Beavercreek 3-2 to face Ashland in the semis. After the Panthers won the first game 161-156, Ashland won the next three 226-170, 246-179, and 226-157 (don’t know if the Panthers couldn’t find the pocket, had carry problems, or both) to end the Panthers’ season.
In addition, junior Ryan Kaffenbeeger was named Second Team All Ohio.
