Tennessee , Tampa full play tease coming in as easily as the Cardinals are toying with Daniel Jones and the Giants who are laying a huge egg off of their biggest win in a few years which may be the point here. Can't handle success well yet and Jones off for a couple weeks may be rusty , either way he is flat out inept as is the entire team today. Chicago at less than half a play is cruising at such a small play rate at the original bad number .

Raiders at home with a banged up secondary getting 2.5 now with the total in low 50's is being bet OVER. Raiders secondary with three guys out last week was concerning but it was the JETS of course. They are getting healthier though as two guys back there are back this week most likely as well as there massive offensive tackle Brown { 6-9 385 biggest player in the league} so if they can get pressure on Rivers who is late 30'sgoing on 45 physically ? I like their chances offensively .

Raiders + 3 { 2.5 in many locales now} Indy - Play-off type game for both here. Carr outduels Rivers hopefully and Jacobs should be back and if he runs it fairly well to add some balance the Raiders should be in good shape .

Saints - Packers teaser is a play . Both are at -8- 8.5 so wining by a FG is sufficient in games they enjoy some match-up advantages in vs Philly and Detroit . Detroit threw the ball for a lot of yards and scored late to beat Chicago , but also gave up some chunks of yards as well . GB presents a different challenge. Are the Lions rallying for their new coach ? PHILLY going to play hard for the new QB? Last week was Detroit's first cover in 5-6 weeks and they got a few breaks at the end to do it. Packers give up chunks of points at times . Both could cove these lines, Saints have won and covered the last 8 games without Brees , and the Packers are covering at a decent rate this year . So many be a smaller parlay with those two for a decent pay-off with small risk ?

Philly up 17-0 , end of the half 2nd adn long 82 yard TD run . Any given Sunday . Saints look like they have the worst offense in the league .Defense gashed by 82 yarder? { obvious Hold on the outside wasn't called .GB ho humming it , tied at the half .That defense is soft . Hurts had one good drive I guess , doing fine.

San Fran laying 4.5 at the open was a good value for Washington backers , closed at 3 which it hit yesterday , is a one point game at the half .GB hasbeen behind by two scores minimum on average the last 5 years playing at Detroit . Improvement I guess and they should be able to win , but the Saints run covering the number seems to be gone . Our total looks decent but the game will speed up with a 17 point lead for Philly thanks to the ridiculous 82 yard run to end the half . Saints first loss without Brees and it took to game 9 over the last two seasons . Raiders came out flat came back and now Indy has control . SF went to -1 on the first half line. Push now, those who grabbed the + 2.5 early number with Washington ? Good work may be? Las Vegas now down 3 , getting 3 but I think Indy appears to have too much for them over 60 minutes. I hope not .

Speak of the devil ? 62 yard run for Jonathan Taylor to give the Colts a 10 point lead again . One of those weekends where most teams I back are playing zero defense or just have a chitty performance , their worst of the year , break records etc. Happens , you remember those of course more than record setting winning performances. Will the Bills fold like a dollar bill in a drunks pocket tonight ? Not able to handle the success and the attention ? Steelers will probably pound the ball on the ground for their best performance in a while{ Practiced in pads on a Friday ?} . Can the Bills throw it well enough to win a huge game for them ?

Saints down three near mid field with the ball , and momentum then fumble and the Eagles like the excellent 3-8 team they are shove it down their throat to put the game away .game set match . Saints 55 game streak of no 100 yard rusher also broken , of course it is . Teams I am backing for the most part are breaking records for futility lol . Win slightly for the day yesterday and the early action wasn't horrible , but the overall action and performances of some of the teams is truly head shaking and putrid .

Can't make this up . Total goes to 45 because Philly trying to run out the clock fumbles at mid field and lets the go right in .They deserve to lose the game . They miss the FG and then score a TD after a fumble near mid field giving them the ball right back with a short field ? You can't make this up . Kind of funny actually . Of course got the onside kick and will win the game. Take the Steelers to just call it a day . Bills will play their worst game in over a month . Just one of those days .

Couple of HUGE plays [ 82 yard run at the end of the half was a bad sign and a pass in the flat uncovered for HUGE yards were the difference whatever had to happen happened at every key juncture of the football game } some breaks and the Saints not running the ball at all , and oh yeah two killer Hill Turnovers , although the Eagles turning it over just getting in position to run the clock and punt it deep takes the cake.

Makes you wonder, Harry, if Jalen Hurts had been the better option all along... or if Carson “lost” his team.

You weren’t going to play him earlier than this . But Wentz certainly was struggling badly and lost his confidence and surely the team wasn’t confident . Hurts was ok , not great , but he does provide something here . Hurts is a leader . The way he handled the Tua situation at Alabama is still talked about down there as an example of what it means to be a good.teammate leader and team player . I’m happy for him. He’s the best option now , don’t think long term he’s a better NFL QB than Wentz but Wentz may be done in Philly . I was just happy to hit Buffalo . Was footballed out . Stopped watching for a while after the Bills receiver had possession went to the ground and the ball popped up into the Steelers DBs arms leaving to the first score . Other room to watch a Doc with fam , then checked back to catch Bills taking care of business . Great win for them . Pittsburgh still a tough team but is spinning it’s wheels offensively and is certainly not top dog (. Never really were KC , and a few others are better ) but will be a tough out .

Play-off picture is becoming more clear in the NFL as the Chiefs as number one seed is pretty much done although they continue to not cover { props to the guys who played Miami following that trend } and not closing out games well, letting teams hang around for the duration . Flaw that may come back to bite them at some point in the post season? Packers also have a defense that can be generous and sometimes allows the game to go down closer to the wire than they want. They hold the number one seed at the moment.

Week got off to a good start on Thursday with the Patriots - Rams game staying well under the 43.5 as the inept Pats offense did it's part by not scoring a TD or finishing anything or doing much of anything most of the night . 24-3 . Giants get their starting QB back and come home off of a huge road victory over a good to very good at times Seattle team with momentum off of 4 straight wins and they had lost the previous two games before the streak by a TOTAL of 3 points. They got pretty much dominated by an ice cold , with no momentum at all Cardinals club. Murray wasn't great running the ball again as he is less than 100 percent physically , BUT he was solid if not unspectacular throwing with a 97 passer rating{ 7 yards an attempt 24-35 with a TD . Big edge in total plays yards and no turnovers . Giants lost three fumbles .

Two small plays on early numbers were 1-1 .Bears rolled after killing us last week with their late collapse vs. the Lions, but the total in the Carolina - Denver game flew OVER with 24 points scored in the frantic 4th quarter. Drew Lock played much better than we anticipated and there was a 87 yard punt return for 6 as well.

Tampa{ 26-14} and Tennessee{ 31-10 } teaser came in easily , but Minnesota kicker kind of kept that margin up with 4 missed kicks . TB was good not great , so Arians boasts afterwards were kind of weird.

New Orleans - Philly game was the epitome of frustration. 10-0 late first half , Eagles basically trying to run the clock out hand of to Miles Sanders who goes 82 yards for the TD . Not only does it make the Saints winning the game and the teaser with GB look bad but it made the right call of an UNDER in this one tenuous as larger margins in the first half or early second half lends itself to more points being scored and a looser longer game sometimes. Well it never got loose , but it was a very bad sign and omen. 17-0 at the half. Saints predictably came back pretty strong and closed the gap to 17-14 late third quarter. 4th quarter with momentum about 9-10 left still17-14 Saints ball near midfield , QB Hill fumbles the ball back to the Eagles . Eagles do what good teams { Eagles hadn't been good till now? are they now?} do and take the turnover and stick into the end zone . Couple big plays wide open guy in the flat , Hurts legs 24-14 .

Saints move into Eagles territory fairly late, , take a couple sacks adn miss a long FG { Actually wanted them to make it even rooting for UNDER as that makes it a TD game and probably changes the dynamic at the end } but still time to kill to ensure the UNDER hits and avoiding a very late back door OVER . Eagles fumble on second and 8 trying to run the clock out near mid field . All they had to do was not fumble and punt it deep with a 10 point lead , but NO they give it right back and the Saints predictably score a TD easily actually making it go OVER by one point but they still are going to lose the teaser. Frustrating as trying to catch your pet rabbit in the backyard . Hurts running for over 100 yards along with Sanders broke a long Saints run game defense streak and of course the week after they are pretty much being hailed as the top defense in football play a very average game vs. a Rookie QB. Packers did their part as they grabbed a two TD lead in the 4th and held on . Rodgers playing at an incredibly high level and Adams is an absolute beast . Defense will have them losing in the conference final if they get the number one seed most likely .

Raiders with some guys back on defense , were still sieve like most of the day. Colts were incredibly balanced with 244 passing and 214 rushing . Breakout game for Jonathan Taylor of Wisconsin who had limited success up to this point with a low average per carry . He was an kicker yesterday with 20-150 line good for 7.5 a carry . Raiders Carr put up some good numbers 31-45 for 316 a very respectable 7 yards an attempt , BUT he threw TWO picks and the Raiders lost the turnover battle 3-0 . Some days you just lose the turnover margin overall in the small handful of games you play and it just kills you like it does football teams in general.. A couple games we lost it pretty significantly.

At this point of the day , some frustration was setting in adn I opined that our last play on the Bills would blow up as well and early second quarter game still scoreless , the Bills receiver caught the ball hit the turf with his hands under the ball and it popped up right into a Pittsburg Db's lap. Steelers with the short field scored shortly thereafter , and it was time for me to stop watching football for a bit.

Saw the halftime score of Bills 9-7 with a missed PAT { of course , it is an epidemic} and sighed a bit . Big Ben threw a pick six with under a minute left in the half providing the margin in a very ugly half of football. Bills came out and took control in the third quarter with Allen throwing for two scores with drives of 68 and 57 yards. 23-7 entering the 4th adn game pretty much over. Pitt scored a TD on a nice drive when I started watching again { Of course } and got the two points to make it 23-15 . Bills closed it out well holding the ball for a bit and icing the game with a short FG .26-15 Final . Pittsburgh once again couldn't run the football and that may be a fatal flaw of this team. Ben was not great going 21-37 for a paltry 5 yards an attempt , two Picks { One for six} . turnover margin was equal but Allen was better than Ben and the Bills at least had a semblance of a running game going for 104 yards{ Pitt had 47 on 17 tries} .

Big week of college football as the CFP needs to be sorted out . Buckeyes should roll over a decent but not great Northwestern team , , Clemson will take care of ND in the rematch with Lawrence back under center. Florida has no shot vs Bama and Mullen can stop whining any second now.
USC is a pretty good team overall , BUT stop with any love for them getting in over a 6-0 OSU team , Buckeyes would grind that club to sawdust over 60 minutes. Not in the same class at all right now . This isn't a decade ago . In a year where all regular rules and traditional norms are being turned upside down and inside out , WHY in the holy he)*l are the powers that be being a stickler for the 4 team play-off ? Why is that sacred in a once in a century level global pandemic ? Teams are playing all different number of games , very few non conference games , NOTHING is traditional , teams are opting out of bowl games , players have opted out since the beginning of the season and during the season and now at the end of the regular season, so why not just open the sucker up to 8 teams already? Why is the 4 team so sacred?

Want to clarify my opinion on Hurts overall play in his first start . Under the circumstances and given the opponent he was playing ? IT WAS GREAT .

First off he and the team got the W , in a game if it was lost pretty much eliminates them 1000 percent . He also didn't turn the ball over. He was just OK throwing .17-30 for 167 yards only 5.6 an attempt with a modest 83 passer rating. Very respectable Joel Goodsen type stats but not quite Ivy league now is it ? lol. OK but again NO Picks , BUT he did lose a fumble that ended up killing me and almost his team{ That onside kick was almost recovered by the Saints} . But the big contribution was his running which was running back like 18 carries for 108 yards { 5.9 a carry} . High character kid , mature , good leadership qualities adn eh just may be the future of the Philadelphia Eagles. Wentz from a small town , played at a small school, may not be a good fit in Philadelphia which has a very intense critical fan base , [Booed Santa Claus , it's talk radio and media coverage is notoriously harsh } . Speculation is Indy may be a good fit for Carson who lets not forget has played at a very high level at times and is a very good talent and will be productive again .

What a game . The last few minutes were a game onto itself. Game had a bit of everything. Beginning looked like an slug fest , teams then started moving the rock a bit and then 4th quarter looked like a shootout at the OK Corral . 35 points scored in the 4th quarter. Last play was a huge one for the Baltimore backers as the safety cashed their tickets for them. That last play in situations like that with the laterals , long passes across the field , the desperate tips and bobbles trying to revive an already DOA play often results in the defensive team scoring points which can and often has affect the point spread and totals . Spent many a nervous last few seconds just hoping one of the handful of people who get their hands on the ball simply goes down after getting planted .

Like to play more UNDERS overall and I have lost a couple times on these plays on scoop and scores on the last play getting the total to go OVER. The safety made it a 5 point margin as Ravens bettors laid three . Didn't like the game either way or the total so I was just watching , but even the announcers as they often do these days had to chuckle when they realized that the safety was going to be called. The cruel thing was they didn't put up the final two points for a about a minute , a LONG minute for bettors who were hoping those last two points weren't going to be added somehow.

Jackson with cramps on a cold night? Not sure why he went to the locker-room , but a bathroom break of some kind was more likely? Who knows , but that 4th down play and TD was surreal. Ravens coverage on the ensuing Browns drive that seemed to win it for them was softer than pianissimo. Might as well put pylons out there . Browns unfortunately didn't manage the clock quite well enough and left a full minute and change left and Ravens have the best kicker ever ? No they really do . Made it look easy . Safety was an early Ravens XMAS gift .

Moral victory ? Not anymore, they played well and proved they aren't the Browns anymore which is why this isn't a moral victory despite being blown out the first time vs. the Ravens. Once hot Giants are next, they were cooled down big time by the Cardinals pass rush which crippled them .Murray ran for 47 yards which is just OK for him but needed after he was a bit limited with a shoulder injury the few weeks before. The Jalen Hurts led Eagles travel to the desert to take on the Cards in a now very interesting match-up as they both cling to play-off hopes off of big wins .

Hurts provides a spark no question. Teams rally around new energy . it isn't a personal slight to Wentz, but it was clear that he had lost ' IT" that innate confidence and self assuredness that you need to be successful as a QB at any level but especially at this one. Fidgeting in the pocket, not getting the ball out , led to mistakes and the team stagnating and losing confidence in him as he lost confidence in himself .

Washington football team coming on under feel good story Alex Smith who is a bit hobbled now with a calf strain , but should start vs Seattle. Skins errr FBT won despite being outgained 350 -193 and only getting 12 first downs to 21 for San Fran. Defense won it and Chase Young has been an absolute beast as we know he is capable of here in Ohio . NFC least is playing better now and the final three weeks should be interesting . WFBT has the leg up for the play-off spot but it is hardly a done deal .

Early lines , quick plays ,lines moving .

New England - Miami - UNDER 42.5 - Got the open and it is now 41 , it could go back up a bit through the week .Pats offense is a mess as we know , nailed that UNDER last week with them vs. the Rams on Thursday night . This week it gets better , as NE is facing a rookie QB and Belichick and the Patriots history of tormenting and ultimately severely limiting rookie QB's is well documented. Pats are done in terms of the play-offs at this part of year for the first time in almost 20 years . This doesn't mean they have quit though. They will play hard and compete , and their offense is so bad now and Dolphins coach Flores who was on the NE staff a long while knows how to defend this mess and NE knows how to defend the Fins. Patriots actually win the first meeting in Foxboro comfortably , But, A TTHIS POINT THE fins are the better team . 23- 17 at most?

Early teaser

Tennessee - 8.5{ down to -2.5 } over the Lions - Titans back on track after the Browns debacle and the last 6 quarters have been awesome for them .Lions haven't quit and played hard for the full 60 the last few two weeks in a late comeback win vs. the Bears and a home loss to the Packers. Can they get back up here with little to play with besides pride? Stafford who took that awkward hit going for the end zone vs GB won't play. Daniel is a competitor , but limited, I can't see the Lions summoning the energy to keep this one razor close , never mind winning. Could be a straight play if the line goes down or more comes out.

Green Bay - 8.5 { down to 2.5} over Carolina - Panthers may be packing it in , as they made Drew Lock look like an above average NFL starter and he isn't that at this point. In terms of playing an early teaser in the NFL you kind of look for the teams least likely to win a game at this line level , especially on the road. Just tough situations for both of these teams. Tampa Bay last week was not that good a play as the game unfolded snap for snap , but their kicker{ Minnesota} had an all time awful game of his career 4 missed kicks including an XP. Not bad weather related either. But this one reminds me of that TITANS - BUCS teaser play last week .

Saw that Hammond Russell signed with WVU today.

The people of WV will enjoy seeing pops’ wheels as he drives around Morgantown on Saturdays this fall!

Congrats to early signees Bryon Threats { Cincinnati } Devon Williams { Minnesota } Hammond Russell { West Virginia } and Daniel Warnsman { Eastern Michigan } . Fickell projects Threats as a safety and he's good enough to be given a chance to play back there on the early side. I have always likened threats to Bob Sanders who played safety at Iowa and with the Indianapolis Colts . Sanders played at Erie Cathedral Prep and also was used at Running back . Threats is two inches taller and has a bigger frame than Sanders did at the same age, but both are sudden explosive athletes who play bigger than they are and can lay a lick . Play through contact and have good ball skills . Threats has NFL potential IMO .

Williams projects as a Will Linebacker with his versatility being the key. He is an athletic smart player who is rarely out of position. Playmaker who isn't adverse to playing to the run and also packs a bit of a punch driving through players , but his greatest strength is being able to smoothly drop back in coverage covering in the slot . Guys with this type of versatility aren't growing on trees . May not play as early as Threats at UC but with anohter year to year and a half in the weight room and learning the scheme , I think he he competes for a job in his second year and a definite starter in year three ? He can play special teams early . Good ST player .

Russell has come a long way. More of a basketball body his Frosh adn Soph,. years he worked to become a much more physical dynamic athlete who made himself a D-1 DE . Another example of a hoops guy who wasn't a D-1 level player who had D-1 potential in football. Lot of guys like Russell who concentrate on hoops and give up football , in his size range and smaller guards who would be excellent DB's and safety prospects as well as Slot and wide receivers who never pursue it . Russell is a great example of this. hard work and focus making himself a D-1 DE . Probably stays outside with length and overall athleticism .

Warnsman I have said a few times is better than his rating and better than just a MAC recruit. He will probably play earlier than later and may be that makes this a very good choice. Compares well to Rock 2015 grad Sam McCollum who started as a true Frosh at Miami and started and was productive all 4 years. Sam's brother Miles played DE at Harvard . Warnsman has a mean streak , has good feet finishes blocks and I believe his frame gets him to an NFL camp when he's done . Of course sticking at the NFL level is a longshot for most every college football player but he's 6-4 and will carry about 315 at some point pretty well.

Kicker Casey Magyar first team all Ohio will kick at Kent State but I don't believe he signed early . Coffman didn't attempt a lot of FG's the last couple years , but he hit a few needed attempts nailed basically all of his PAT'S the last 2 years , and a very high percentage of his KO's went into the end zone. Kyle Clinton like comp who graduated in 2010 walked on at OSU and held the the kick-off job for a spell . Rocks have had a nice kicking tradition with Adam Graessle { All Ohio kicked at Pitt } Clinton{2010} , Grant Coffman { 2013} { 1st team All Ohio walked on at Miami Fl. } Joey Mitchell 2019 { All Ohio Punting is his specialty but also a solid Kicker , punting at Albany } and now another D-1 kicker in Casey who was first team all Ohio . Chase Granlund { 2015 } was excellent as well but more known for his play at Receiver and DB. Caleb Stoneburner { 2017 } punted three years at Coffman and was the best I have seen there. He consistently flipped the field and his high arching punts were difficult to catch which resulted in a few turnovers. Mitchell was a great sideline angle punter who is still doing that in college .

Yet another position to fill at Coffman next year . Junior Griffin Mercer will get the first shot likely , and with QB/Punter Mathews leaving that position is also a need.

Senior Sheron Phipps I heard got a preferred walk on offer from West Virginia . Not sure how that works out for most , but Sheron has the type of talent you can't teach and I hope he finds a good home at the next level .Phipps has overcome a lot of obstacles in his life and one of the more disappointing aspects of this past season for the Rocks was his not being able to play in the play-offs . I mean scores of Massillon players were all eligible to play the full season .One other example that was in focus was Northmont's Caden Rice who transferred from Greenon for only ONE reason. To play football at another school PERIOD . No problem . Paper work , politics , whatever, Phipps gets to play 5 games, Rice and many others who left to play football at other schools ? Most got to play . Did they cross more I's and T's ? Did they enroll earlier ? I am not sure , but it absolutely stunk that Phipps had to sit this year as others got to play. Phipps can contribute and be a very good player in a variety of programs.
Not to pick on Rice , but he announced he was transferring in July I believe?

In this most unusual of years, there is still time for many a program to take a closer look at this unique talent and person . He's hungry and talented . He's been productive when on the field .

Here's Rice's loophole .

Cade Rice has left Greenon High School after three years as the Knights starting quarterback to play his senior season at Northmont. He announced his transfer Thursday afternoon on Twitter.

Now Rice wants to see what he can do in Division I in the Greater Western Ohio Conference against talented teams such as Springfield, Wayne, Springboro and Centerville. Rice will also face non-conference foes Dublin Coffman and Pickerington North, both Division I playoff teams last fall.

Hopefully I’ll be playing at the highest level once I get to college, and I need to go somewhere that’s going to better prepare me for that,” Rice said. “Also it’s going to set me up to get exposure to the bigger colleges.”

Rice is ranked as a three-star recruit by 247sports.com. He has FCS offers from Bucknell, Illinois State, Bryant, Fordham, Elon and Rhode Island. Rice hasn’t been able to visit any of those schools so he isn’t ruling any of them out. His goal, however, is to have the kind of season against top high school competition that leads to offers from programs in Power 5 conferences such as the Big Ten.

“It’s always been my dream to play college football at the highest level,” Rice said. “With the hard work that I’ve put in, I think I can definitely be one of those guys that goes on to play at the highest level.”

Northmont’s offense will give the 6-foot-3 Rice the chance to show what he can do. The Thunderbolts are coming off a 6-5 season and playoff appearance behind the top passing offense in the GWOC. Keaton Kesling, now at Wittenberg, led the league with 2,991 passing yards and 33 touchdowns.

Northmont has been speedy and productive at the receiver position in recent years. Leading that group this year will be senior Markus Allen, who has committed to Michigan. Allen, a three-star prospect, set the school record last year with 1,087 receiving yards.

“It’s a really pass-friendly offense, and obviously that gets me fired up as a quarterback who likes to throw the ball quite a bit,” Rice said. “With the weapons that we’ve got on the outside, we can do a lot of great things this season.”

Rice will be living in the Northmont school district with his mother, Adina Young, so he won’t have to sit out any games as a transfer. Young is moving back from Florida and will get to see her son play a full season for the first time since his freshman year.

“I know she’s really excited, and it makes me glad that she’ll be able to see every game this year,” Rice said. “Hopefully we have a season.”

Greenon has a big hole to fill for what the Knights expect to be another winning season in pursuit of the school’s first playoff berth. Coach Josh Wooten will have 14 returning starters, including third-team all-Ohio receiver Kameron Cox and transfer Trevor Stewart from Urbana. Stewart led the Hillclimbers in rushing last season.

“I didn’t leave Greenon because I didn’t like the people there or anything like that – definitely not for that reason,” Rice said. “I liked every player that I played with, I was cool with every coach on the staff and they helped my game tremendously. And they were really good dudes to me.”

No problem with this , but Phipps moving was a problem? Mom's just happened to Pick Northmont ? Got it . Rice is a baller .He was a HUGE difference maker in Northmont's season . They sadly had to forfeit in round three due to Covid, but they were undefeated and it was basically him bailing them out in close ballgames. Huge comeback vs Springfield , Hail Mary last second pass to beat Springboro etc. Good kid with potential at the next level . Same is true of other kids .

Phipps lied about where he said he was living. He gave an address and the house did not exist. So, he transferred without changing residence.

Rice moved in with his mom. Who had an actual house. He transferred and changed residence.

These are two completely different cases.

If you give me an example on Massillon players, Ill do my best to find facts to clear things up for you. You mentioned two players by name, Phips and Rice, so it was easier to get you facts. Hope that clears things up for you.

Yes I posted the Rice article , don't you to clear anything up . You saying Phipps lied is good enough for me. Thanks for reading every post . Yes I know I know, you guys go years without reading . Lol . Old man? isn't it time to retire from trolling Coffman football and stick to whatever Catholic school in Columbus is getting better players at any given time and is winning more and spending your few years left rooting for purity and goodness . Who else was present in that OHSSA meeting about Phipps besides you ? Couldn't care less about Rice's mom moving from Florida so Caden could face better teams so it's all good , or Massillon's cadre of transfers. I am sure it's all legal and pure. So if he didn't move at al why was he allowed to play even five games? Is this possible?

I don’t read every post. No one reads your assessment of college and pro games. No one. I feel bad about the amount of time you waste writing so much. But I think you think people read and like them. No one does. I’ve asked every Yappi member. They all 100 percent agreed it was dumb.

But when you ask questions that I know the answer to I’m happy to a answer them. You asked why one had to sit out and the other didn’t. I answered. I don’t think that’s trolling. But rather answering a question you asked.

So when do you know when to read and when not to if not one person is reading any assessments ? No waste of time at all , I'm already doing it anyway , not so NOT ONE PERSON can read here lol . I think people are kind of stopping by anyway not a guess , it's pretty evident. And how pathetic is it that you are asking EVERY member whether they like or read them . Seriously , man you need help I feel for you . I see the numbers , I see the views of comparable threads and it's pretty clear that people stop by . You say they don't . OK . I've never asked anyone whether they like other threads or cared if they did. But You seem to want to know what people think about this one for some reason . My be they hate it, but why are they reading it? May be you could clear that up for me. And lastly, if you have some samples of the survey of my posts ? Please share .

they aren’t reading them. I told you that. 0 percent. Zero. Z. E. R. O.

but I and others love high school football so when you write about that I and others read it.
and when you ask questions I know the answer to I answer.
hope that clears things up

I feel bad about the amount of time you waste writing so much. But I think you think people read and like them. No one does. I’ve asked every Yappi member. They all 100 percent agreed it was dumb.
I don't think about whether people even for a second LIKE what I post , I am not putting opinions on the forum thinking or worrying whether anyone LIKES it or even reads it.{ Although it's clear they do read it } I can see that people are stopping by here . That's pretty obvious . If you say no one likes it and it's dumb ? I couldn't care less honestly . I've never posted to please anyone reading this space . I do what I want to do. Some like it some don't . They don'[t have to read . You included, but it's clear that you only come by to troll adn be a negative force .

That's fine , I'm not writing for them anyway if they read it fine , if not that's fine I'm not wasting any time at all, it's already been done anyway, it's what I do , and I will continue to post them a few times a week even if they aren't reading . People don't have to read especially if they only care about HS football . The main point here isn't me posting things on my own thread that others aren't interested in , that's irrelevant,{ to me} but what I do find fascinating is you ASKING EVERYONE { or claiming to } whether they like what someone else is posting . Why is it that you care about that and feel it important to let me know that ? Can you answer that ? How do you go about asking them ? Why do you care whether anyone besides yourself likes the thread adn what's included in it ? I would never ask anyone here whether they like or not like what I post . Have never thought to do that even for a millisecond .Why would I ? Why you DO IT ? Is another question and one you need to think about . Why would YOU care what OTHERS think about what I'm posting ?

I don’t understand the question you are asking?
I’ll respond when you ask a question.
Why do you take the time to ask EVERY member whether they like something that someone else is posting? Why do you care what others think about my thread ? Why is it important to you that you find that out { Or claim to } ? I remember someone , might have bene you telling me that Coach Crabtree says you are a moron or something to that effect thinking I would care about his opinion . I honestly couldn't care less and that's not because I don't have respect for him and what he does and has done . I do respect what he has done and said that even after someone 'Informing "me of his opinion . Don't care if people like if I post about other forms of football from other perspectives, TV show references , movies , pop culture, ,local places to eat adn grab a couple beers etc. I post what interests me . If people aren't interested they aren't interested . You saying no one's reading ? That's fine { although they are } I enjoy posting regardless . Your survey's and your reporting on others opinions of what I post is what I asked you ? Why would you do that in the first place or care? I'm a topic in your orbit? Hmm. I seriously never thought that coaches would take the time to read these spaces in the first place and if they did it certainly didn't matter to me if they liked it or not . So why do you care ?

Perfect non answer . So may be it’s time to stop “ not “ reading altogether? Be sure not to miss my posts on some Netflix shows or a big football weekend (. HS has ended ). So you can join the legions of others NOT reading or stoping by at all , Maybe make it permanent ? Then again what’s on my mind at the moment is likely to elicit a reaction perhaps ? Or the other part of the dynamic duo of Coffman trolls ?

Quite a game last night in terms of entertainment value. Mariotta was a go against when he came out and would have been but it was a win ultimately with the Chargers grabbing a field goal which was a good thing , BUT he wasn't the reason the team lost and didn't cover the number . He looked like the best back-up in the league last night . Good for him. A former top pick who never quite popped , but may be he opened some eyes last night and may get a chance to start somewhere ? Gruden has more than proven , Super Bowl or not that he is about an average coach . He is a very knowledgeable offensive football coach . He is great on TV with his analyst work and his QB camp type stuff . Does he develop his younger players and build a team that plays complementary football ? He isn't there yet and he's probably not going to get it done in terms of deeper play-off success and we may see him back in the booth in a couple years ?

College football is going to have an open door , no waiting period transfer dynamic going into 221. Transfer is a 4 letter word to some HS and College football fans. This dynamic has exploded in recent years at the college level , especially in basketball which is a literal musical chairs situation .

College QB's have been transferring for a while now , but can we imagine what this spring will look like with the waiting period waived for the year due to the pandemic ? Certain sports were granted this no wait policy , but now it's the big boy boy revenue sports being included . Wow . it will be very interesting.

As I have opined many times over the years the big High school transfer trend started on the coasts like many trends do. I remember mentioning Jay Minton's Florida coaching experience and the wild west nature of the transfer game down there was a trend setter. California is another state that has less restrictions and some top teams don't add one or two every year but double digit 'Newcomers" . Arizona instituted a Super division or 'open Division as a way to deal with team stacking . Some of the top teams in the Phoenix metro area routinely have as many as 20 D-1 level athletes in any given year. It's a limited number there but they are pulling away from the competition which is why they instituted the 'open "division .

Some states in other sports have done this because some Privates and Catholics are flat out dominant , so they create a division for these super teams and a few of the top Publics who may want to take a swing at the elites. Ohio transfers are a lot less prevalent than some of these aforementioned states , but it's a real dynamic. Catholics have open houses because if not they close their doors I am told . They are allowed to do this and the best programs don't have to really recruit good athletes , they just kind of show up if the program is winning. Catholic education has really had a tough time with the closing of so many schools around the country and I know they need to have these .I went to two myself as a13- 14 year old pretty much knowing that I was staying at my Public school .

Minton had great success at Wayne and in a couple of those years and was helped by transfers a bit . About a decade ago Pick Central got a few guys from other areas that helped them fill some needs { Burg QB } . Jared Drake kind of put Westy Central on the CO football map after coming in from Upper Arlington because he wanted to throw the ball more . The Stoudt family came to Dublin after the older daughter graduated in Pickerington where she played in a very good hoops program , because the Rocks threw the ball more than the Pickerington schools did , QB's have moved around for a longer time than the trend started. Texas has a few power teams [ Allen with 6600 students AND getting transfers from out of state left and right } There is a reason why West Texas is not even coming close to even getting to the state quarterfinals in the larger divisions . Isolated, limited transfer numbers , changing demographics , and no ability unlike the heavily populated cities suburbs to build and put together super teams . Now that isn't to say there is traditional powers that rely on tradition and hard work but they also attract a few key guys to be difference makers. I have no problem saying that Coffman is a great community to live go to school and PLAY sports or be involved in other activities and that families and kids can do well if they choose to come to the community . Tradition, facilities , good coaching , great school and community ? If only sports was an upgrade I would say that's not a great choice . But here ? Multiple reasons to want to be a part of the community.

Kids and probably to an even greater extent now their parents , want to play or be associated with a WINNER , a winning traditional program . Maybe a bit better coaching staff and they want to play with better players . So they join forces with others they see and play with at camps and in gyms in AAU games , parents talk to each other and often their kids go to the same high school. LeBron James kind of started this 'join forces " dynamic in the NBA .

The semester is ending today in area High schools , and this is also a time where some kids and their parents have decided to move on from where they are in search of a better 'situation". Small school kids may want to go to a school that is higher profile and plays better competition .May be the parents think there kid is better than they are and can walk into a traditional power and play ? They mistakenly think that Johnny will have a better shot at a scholly offer by playing with better kids . A program that wins a couple more games a year. I get that playing in a 1- 2 win program can be demoralizing and may not have the best coaching staff , BUT what we see a lot of times now is kids leaving perfectly good programs where they could develop on the field in the community they grew up in or started at , become a leader and a good teammate and have even a better chance may be for a offer Of course in the transfer culture it is often the BEST players who do this and they are getting offered regardless, or thriving just fine no matter where they play, but college coaches aren't huge fans of kids transferring from good to very good programs to super power just because .

Now Coffman got their first transfer from a Columbus city school in Bryon Threats who came to Coffman after his frosh year at Mifflin . This type of situation is different than say a Coffman Sophomore hoops player leaving a good Rocks program in a very good academic situation in a community he grew up in to to go to Pick Central to play less minutes and probably never be a leader over there to chase something or to spite the Coffman program who didn't give him enough minutes. Threats story is public , I won't go into it here , but anyone who thinks it's a bad thing that a kid betters his situation like this and thrives and grows as a person UPGRADING his situation not just football wise but in general is wrong .

Sports ONLY transfers sometimes don't work out for many . My thought is bettering your situation community wise, academically , and if sports situation offers better facilities, coaching , and a stronger tradition? Gravy . Coffman has built a strong wrestling culture and kids want to be part of it. They have a transfer from Davidson and a few kids wo moved to Dublin in MS to be involved with great coaches in a rising program that is now solidly a top 10 D-1 program getting closer to top 5 now? Wrestling has had this dynamic for a while . Coffman has the right coach who has built the program the last 9 years to the point where kids want to be part of it when they are younger . East side suburbs have long gotten Columbus public school district families to move into their districts , athletes included which has certainly helped some of the programs .They upgrade their situations in multiple areas.

Get well shout out to Hammond Russell who was involved in a scary accident in Dublin recently , but will be fine. WVU commit and hard worker and self made kid who is a great example to all hoops players who have more ultimate potential in football . Many more chances to playin college and get some dough in football than in hoops . Mark Porter a very knowledgeable high school football 'expert" who runs Scouting Ohio has been on this for years and I agree with him 100 percent . So many gyms have legit D-1 or 1-AA level football kids playing hoops who simply don't play . College caches like multiple sports guys for one thing ,and I get the skills nature of hoops lends itself to specializing , BUT trust Mark here fellas, sheer numbers should tell very good athletes that football offers more opportunity for many many guys.

Speaking of the joining forces transfer dynamic. Coffman girls hoops lost Hammonds sister Imarianah to Reynoldsburg .She is a Jr. multiple power five offer level talent who joins two other transfers over there to go along with 4 key players returning from a district winning program . Girl from Olentangy Liberty joins Russell and another D-1 player transfer from Whitehall who is a big at 6-1 and has a ton of potential and many offers .Burg goes from a good program to a Nationally ranked one in a New York transfer minute . Saw her play in Middle school in Dublin as one of our friends daughters played with her . She was really good ,and has s worked really hard to get better and was primed to be a leader and key for the Rocks and will be a good D-1 college player . She may even get a state title ring she wouldn't have at Coffman . Good luck to Gavin {Pick C transfer } and Imarianah in their east side hoop dreams and may a state title be in your futures .

Brian Kelly needs to shut up . His take that he and his team would opt out if parents and family weren't allowed inside the Rose Bowl is weak. Yes family comes first to most of us and is extremely important to many of us as it should be . BUT Brian , look around you . What is happening? Yes some places have no such restrictions , I am not judging those places { The scene on the field after your great win vs Clemson was probably not a great idea } but opting out is not the way to go and even mentioning it makes you look obtuse.

Of course if they are included and are scheduled to play in the Rose Bowl Semi final , do I think for one minute he backs out of playing because Mom, Pop, sister Suzie , Brother Michael , Auntie Gin , Uncle Ernie , or even Phil and Don can't attend ? NO . He's a competitive football coach and guy . He's playing . So just stop . It's a once in a century pandemic that is currently at it's worst point .

Clemson stuck at - 10.5 now as they dare you take ND . Lawrence being back is going to improve the 450 yards passing of the first meeting? Not sure about that. They couldn't run the football at all . Can they this time around? Clemson is healthier this time on defense . That should help , As they were gashed for 200+ yards on the ground in South Bend . Not sure on this one.

What I was pretty clear on is two favorites today in Conference title games . Last night dogs were barking pretty well as USC was flat as a ;pancake and Slovis was a turnover machine . Oregon won and scored 31 points despite gaining less than 250 yards .

Marshall got overrun by UAB who is usually in this spot , and Buffalo laid an egg vs Ball State . OSU is a noon kick as they get ready to punch their ticket to the final four CFP. They will win but how much do they need to win by to ensure inclusion ? My guess is they are safe if they approach the line which is - 19-20 right now. Two scores should be fine as well. Any win might be good enough but I feel the Bucs think they need to impress. The problem is the Bucs aren't a good second half team. Five games isn't the normal 12 game at this point sample size , but it is a noticeable weakness. They control the games at some point in the first half and then have gotten outplayed overall in the second 30 minutes. 1st half line about 11? I think OSU by 11-14 after 30 minutes is a solid opinion, but I am playing them at -19 as well . 41-17? Go Bucks.

Alabama - 17 was a quick first reaction as they are at another level this year. Obviously always very good to great. But this year they are covering every game , taking no prisoners and are clearly the best team . During Covid and it's challenges , many of the best programs handle it the best , and or just have enough material to offset any issues. Bama has separated this year . Sport is too top heavy with about 5-6 programs at another level from the pack and out of that handful of the rich and powerful ? ? Bama is the one with it's own Island . Sure there are a few others who have their own jets and have enough money as Gordon Gekko once said , " To not waste time" Bama is filthy rich with pockets deeper than the Marianas Trench . Florida gave up a ton of yards and points to a average on a good day LSU team with a Frosh QB and playing without it's best receiver . Trask is a good QB, he will make some throws but I see Bama getting to the 40's here and Florida would have to get to about 27-28 ? I think Bama defense is better than that.. 45-21?

Pac - 12 has been a mess overall in terms of not getting games in as it was pretty clear that they were going to be more vigilant than some other conferences , or stringent may be a better thought. Arizona State is playing it's 4th game of the year , but is more talented than Oregon State so they are a 7 point choice on the road at Oregon State I don't think the number is quite right on the road as Oregon State has played well at times . BUT they are severely banged up here . A-State is off of the emotion of a rivalry game and their first game in a while , but that game held no drama and was a beat down that was over early . We saw USC struggle elast night off of their rivalry win in the last minutes.

Arizona State - 7 is a play here but not large, but will be teased with

Utah - 10.5 at home over Washington State. Utah is starting to get it and this will be their last game of the year as they are opting out of a bowl game . They should win this one by 2 TD's at least . Wash State should be getting a few more points here. { made the line 13.5 } Utah is a good straight play as well , but with a little worst case scenario insurance as well .

Kind of scrambling after hearing about the OSU scratches , negated the OSU play {Taking NW+ 17.5 } play hoping the game doesn't fall on OSU by 18 points . Line alert was 19 down to 17.5 and slid further on the LATE news that OSU was going to be shorthanded . They look like crap of course and are flat as a pancake so a 18 point win looks very unlikely lol .

Just another day in the life of COVID , and the thing is you don't blink an eye when this type of thing happens . Games being canceled last minute , buses turning around , teams playing just a few games , games being moved, weird locations etc. some playing almost a full season. Some empty stadiums and some more full than may they should be ?

OSU takes care of business , nice win considering Fields was awful and 22 guys were out . Looked like there was a chance for a 18 point Bucs win on top of that. When they missed the two I thought they would get another TD and go for two again miss it and it lands on 18 , losing both the original before knowing the player carnage and the + 17.5 with NW. Ran the clock out as they should have. Utah was going to stop playing after this game even when they started playing better and winning . Well they stopped playing last week it seems . Oklahoma held on for us after being in control the whole way , kicking a field goal to get it to a 6 point margin { laying 5.5 , 6 at KO for many } ISU was driving late but sputtered once they got inside the 40 . Like the revenge factor and the Okie Defense playing better as the season has gone on and they got a couple guys back from the first meeting.

Have them in a teaser with Minnesota { + 12.5 to 18.5 } as well so that was a tough one . Thought it might end up a three point margin and then there was a chance of a loss outright ?

Stanford + 7 played earlier in the week as well using the same play against the team off of the rivalry game that went to the last play go against USC . USC just isn't well coached . UCLA QB is scary no doubt , but Stanford is finding it 's groove a bit , with the run game averaging 5 a rush the last couple weeks and the QB figuring things out . Pass defense is a concern for the Cardinal though so we may see some points scored.

Like last week in the Army Navy game , the UNDER looks good for us today so far with Air Force - Army combining for 3 points with 7 minutes left in the half { total 38}

Besides Bama laying a defensive egg the later action came in really well . GreenBay alive with the teaser with Tennessee who just needs to win by a FG over Detroit . Stafford going to play ?

NE - Miami. Under 42.5. (. Now 41.5 ). Played early

Washington +. 6.5. Seattle - Hawks been struggling on the road lately ATS . WFBT is riding high and i like their defense to hang in well .

NY Giants +. 6.5. Cleveland - Browns always make things hard for themselves . Haven’t gotten margins at all on the road or at home really . Giants off egg layer , Cleveland off of big emotional games. Another Browns drama filled game ?

Two games I liked but number not where I want it . So I’ll pair them in a teaser and hopefully the opinion was accurate and the games fall within the excess .

NE. + 1.5 Miami - Pats keep it close but not sure they can win ? Teased 6.5. To +8

With

Baltimore -13. Jax - A tad high so teased to - 6.5 . Ravens should win by at the least a TD .

One total and one point spread in the later games are possibilities I will post about hoping the line goes in a more favorable direction.
