watch for LCC.....

The LCC schedule is brutal. They already played D2 Lima Senior as close as they possible could without winning.

Now they have the likes of....

D6 (1-1) Spencerville
@ D6 #4 (2-0) Mogadore
D3 (2-0) Toledo Rogers
@ D4 (2-0) Shelby
@ D7 #5 (2-0) Lucas

6 of Mogadore’s first 7 opponents all were in the playoffs last year.
D6 Norwayne
D7 Shadyside (D6 last year)
D6 Lima CC
D4 Meadowbrook (D5 last year)
D5 Rootstown (D6 last year)
D7 Valley Christian.

Hard to get tougher than that small school schedule wise.

I always find it commendable when schools step up their schedule when possible.

It will be interesting to see how Mogadore's 2019 schedule ranks when Drew Pasteur fires up his site for this year. Looking back to week ten of 2018, 9 out of the 10 MAC schools had a tougher strength of schedule than Mogadore last year.

It was said on another thread that MAC schools seem to get preferable treatment on polls, specifically Marion Local after a rather humbling defeat at the hands of Bishop Watterson last Friday in Columbus. I suspect this is partly due to their past performances, and strength of schedule. Just how many Division VII schools do you see scheduling Division III privates ?

better be able to bring it against LCC, LCC has two players No 1 and No 2 are the real deal on both sides of the ball...…

Lucas schedules D2-D5 regularly. Over the past 3 years:

2019
DV Willard
DII Columbus St. Charles
2018
DIII Columbus Centennial
DIV Cincinnati Aiken
DIV Harrison Central
2017
DIII Columbus Centennial
DV Coshocton

Not to mention a home/home w/ Lima Central Catholic in 2018-2019

At the end of the day we all know what matters, and it isn't the polls.

Yeah, the MAC probably gets preferential treatment in the polls, no doubt about that.
Sometimes you earn that respect though and their 86% winning percentage in the playoffs against non mac schools speaks volumes and gets voters to keep on voting for em.

Again, interesting to see how Drew will rank Lucas' 2019 schedule. Going back to last years data, Lucas ranked behind 8 of the 10 MAC schools.

As long as the MAC continues to be the MAC, it is gonna be super hard to beat out any of their team's SOS.

Lucas did end up #5 last year in all of D7.

Toughest schedules in Division 7
1) Delphos St John's (2-8 D7 R28) 0.954
2) Minster (7-3 D7 R28) 0.954
3) Hamler Patrick Henry (7-3 D7 R26) 0.902
4) New Bremen (6-4 D7 R28) 0.874
5) Lucas (8-2 D7 R27) 0.799

St. John’s schedule was ridiculously tough last year. 1 team that made the playoffs in D5, 4 teams that made the playoffs in D6, and 1 team that made the playoffs in D7, would have been 2 but New Bremen was the 9th seed.

I think most people are referring to the SOS in the non-conference, that is the only part of the schedule a school can somewhat control. I give small public schools a ton of credit when they schedule tough non-conference games. They don’t have to do this.
