Div 3 Region 9 - Playoff Thread

Ok now speculation on where they play next week. Aurora and New Phil. Likely kent/Akron/ Ravenna Or more in the Canton area?

Streetsboro and Chardon? Solon perhaps?

Way to go northern portage county! Streetsboro and Aurora 22 and 0 combined. I was at the Aurora game. Great game Aurora stepped up and played great d. Did give up the big breakaway TD but pretty much controlled steubenville all night.

Happy for Boro my Alma Mater with first ever playoff victory! A possible showdown with Aurora in 2 weeks!

I heard that neither Kent or Akron is hosting postseason games, so don't quote me on that.

I can see Streetsboro/Chardon being in Solon, since it's kinda equidistant between both schools. As far as Aurora/New Philly, if Kent or Ravenna is willing to host, I could see either be in the running tbh.

Wow, no discussion on the hapless Quakers even being in this second round discussion. All I heard was, they're done...but these are TEAMS we are discussing and whether impressive or not, their win was a team win, just like the other three winners in this region were tonight. Stars are nothing without their teammates...just ask Steubenville and Tayveon

Congratulations to Streetsboro! They took advantage of their opportunities and they made the big plays when needed. The Irish couldn't. A well deserved, hard fought victory. Good luck down the road.

SVSM Is a little cursed with the burden of its historical success. SVSM has been a good, not great program for the last 3 or 4 years (8, 7, 7 and 6 wins), but people have come to expect the same old St. V and overestimate their talent and potential success and tournament time. 3 people out of 30 picked Streetsboro in the Summit County Pick em.

Kudos to a Streetsboro program that doesn't have tournament experience for pushing past all of the St. V "mystique" and playing their hearts out.

Big Red may not travel much during the regular season, but believe me when I say this, Reno has traveling down to a science! EVERYTHING is planned to the minute. Aurora is a little more than a two hour bus ride, so Reno will pre-plan at least one stop for the Charter Buses; the players will use this time to get out get something to eat, stretch and potentially go over some of the game plans, which will include some run through! The buses will pull into the Stadium with more than enough time for the players and coaches to get acclimated to the area and do more review for the game! Well, that was what was done 25+ years ago, I don't imagine much has changed in that regard.
This is how big red came into Dover for there game. With a Steubenville police escort yes the stuebenville police escorted and stopped traffic thru town at the intersections really!!!!! How is an out of town police department able to do that? Talk about arrogance.

Are you serious? Now that is some whacky man!!! What is wrong with those people?

Pretty sure they have turf now

Correct. Its installation coincided with the building of the new HS. The stadium itself should be adequate, but I could see parking being tight.

The photos are outdated. In addition to turf, there is a new ticket booth/concession stand/locker room building at the north end of the stadium. Most of the footprint of the old HS building is now a parking lot. There is a small parking lot south of the stadium behind the tennis courts, but I would expect them to use that parking lot for buses.

If the same amount of NP people show up this week that showed up last week, there will be plenty of parking. ?
