D7 R27 2025

Week 4 Bloom-Carroll
Week 7 Lucas

Which would be the better game? Is Amanda CC going to be good this year? They scheduled Licking Valley so I am assuming they have something???

This field is on my list simply because of nostalgia..I remember being maybe 10 or 11 years old and seeing those black jerseys with ACES across the front at Massillon. This was on ONN of course.
Did someone say…

ONN?!

AC is getting a new all sports facility and it's currently under construction right next to the football field. It will be a mess during football season.
I think they’re taking out the old field house/locker room, and getting it above grade, as well.

I can understand how an overrated FC team got 50-burgered by that Cubbies team, but man there’s no reason St Charles should only be mustering 8 on one of the smallest football playing schools in the state (let alone losing by multiple scores.)

Ahh, gotcha. Ya lost me for a minute. LMAO. I'm fairly dense.

Ya, that was a good win for Lucas. Beating D2 Lakewood was another solid dub.

Okay, now I know why Ferry picked them up. You don’t get to pad your 730+ all time wins playing a loaded D7 team.
It does mind-boggle that a top ten all-time wins program (Ferry is currently #7) has one region crown, and no trip to the state title game. Very volume intensive lol. The list will look different ten years from now — Toledo Central Catholic for instance is #13 at 720, and they are definitely going to overtake the Riders of the Purple Sage.

@OHfootball3 who let BRP put his input in on my schedule thread 😂
lol and it was so off topic. Let’s just be glad they didn’t make the playoffs as a 16 seed.

Many times I have to refrain from replying to
JM on there. He hasn’t been in the game long enough to realize WV ball isn’t comparable to Ohio ball. Most WV folks in our area do not understand that Ohio doesn’t end at the western border of Guernsey County. It goes beyond OVAC borders and is much better outside of those borders.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t help when Ohio sends the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in the form of Warren, Marietta, FU and Union Local to go play JM.

I think we are sending the Big Reds this year!
Can we send Trimble again sometime soon? They need to get their revenge.
That game. God. We had our chances. Dumb penalties hurt us. Very good game, though. One of the nicest facilities I've played in. That game snapped a 24 game regular season winning streak, and a sure lock (in my opinion) as the 1 seed in R27 that year.

People tried to warn him about us and he didn't take it. It's the first time I started to lurk on OVA.

You’re correct. I distinctly remember a bunch of posters on there told him to not look at the size of the school. It’s not going to be an easy one, etc… I was rooting hard for the Ohio team.

I took a long hiatus after a poster on there took some socioeconomic related shots at Bellaire and then some shots at the Bpt coach.

I think this does boil down to the concept of scale.

Parkersburg HS, for instance: the Ohio cognate to those Big Reds would be… Lancaster. Last we heard of the Gales, they were playing Akron North — a team that fields less kids than the D7 located 1500 feet further north on Route 37.

Very comparable communities, except Lancaster still has generally better socioec’s and generally OK football. Haven’t fared well lately, though. But they’re at least competitive at times in the fourth-best OCC division. Parkersburg would mightily struggle.

I’m shocked to learn Canada had that much of a death grip on Bellaire’s scheduling. If only there was a major east-west interstate that could’ve easily linked the Big Reds to a mutually available opponent. :(
If that north-south state route didn’t destroy the town 30 years ago, they would have made the playoffs in 2024! BRP is blaming Canada. I’m blaming Route 7.

He wanted people to eat their crow after that game. That kicker had a hell of a leg, though.

I say Lancaster vs Trimble would be a hell of a matchup at Fulton.

Route 7 deserves some of the credit for Holenka’s time at Shadyside. IYKYK
